Apple Addresses Alleged Throttling of iPhones with Degraded Batteries

I'm glad that I'm still on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I'm on my second battery. Takes less than a minute to replace it.

I've said it over and over and over. Sealed batteries are an anti consumer design decision. This applies to both android and apple. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever all these phones couldn't have been designed to allow the battery to be removable. Perhaps if people would smarten up and stop buying phones like this, it would change.

I think the bigger issue is that they did not inform the users... the car analogy is actually a good one... because when the car goes into limp mode - a big ass light come on... the apple users were just left hanging - by design of course... to get you to upgrade... yes i just upgraded for this very reason and yes im am pissed off... upgraded to a note by the way.

But with a car, you don't need to replace the transmission or buy a newer one to get the same performance you paid for. That's an angle which is pretty important considering the high price tags on iProducts and iServices.

It’s a completely altruistic move! Apple slowed down your older than v8 8 iPhones for your own benefit! Longer battery life on aging devices. Of course right!!! It has nothing to do with making you think the newer one is faster. No nothing at all.

How dare you, (dumb consumer), think otherwise. We love you, beautiful, noble, smart consumer, now buy our Apple X phone!

You can't change the battery without voiding your warranty. We want you to buy a new phone. This isn't only an Apple problem, though.

Edit: Well, maybe the throttling part is.

As a consumer, I don't buy devices that do not have a user replaceable battery, I consider it foolish and leaving yourself at the mercy of bullshit.

The thing is, there are too many features like this that are anti consumer. Batteries, SDCard Slots, headphone output, unlocked bootloaders, etc. etc.

If we boycott all the bad features, there won't be much left to choose from... :(
