2017 WCG X-mas Race

I have a couple meager Optiplex 160's that my job was tossing out. They have 4 threads and will be most likely converted into multi-purpose boxes. Debating on NVR or just making them mining boxes for BURST coins. However, they should have BOINC installed on them shortly. Just have to decide exactly what route I want to go with them. First I have to get them upgraded to Windows 10 before they stop doing the free upgrades... (assistive technologies route)

That old man couldn't catch a cold in a third world country.

Dems fightin' words. I've been trying to catch up to Musky in F@H since I started folding. And don't you have a few 4Ps with the "Musky mod"? When you see a "Skillz Mod" posted somewhere and gaining in popularity you let me know.

:troll:

Well let's all team up on Skillz today.

I'll be waiting for an MGMCCALLEY Mod in the near future. (y)

Actually I just modded my 2U HP server. I put in an old GTX 760, but HP doesn't do very well with PCI-E power, there isn't any. So I modified a mini-itx PSU to activate when I power on the server and provide power to that GPU. It even fits in the front of the server enclosure where a second backplane might go. So yeah, I mod. But my mods will never be as popular as the Musky mod. That shit is borderline legendary, just about everyone running a naked 4P used that mod back in the day. Almost all of my mods will likely be a one-off unless I buy a bunch of the same pre-fab server to mod them. What we need to do now, for modding, is buy a Tesla car, put in some serious CPU power in the trunk, and use the free charging stations to power our DC projects. Someone already started us off:

Well, I think we can all agree musky is good at chasing people off of his lawn - that was the original intent of my message lol

Im away and I think my computer is off...so you should fly right by me..:)
you're still putting up points, but it's sporadic, so I guess it's your phone? or else some results that hadn't been validated/verified yet.

Yeah, you're not carrying the entire team or anything... :)

Who? Little old me? :D :ROFLMAO: And to think not a single nomination all year long. Looks like I'd be in at least 4th place all on my own as a team of one. Hmmmmm. :sneaky: :coffee:

Screw you guys. I'm going home.

OK, Cartman. :p  :ROFLMAO:

My plans for a strong finish have totally gone awry.. i keep poking at my new ryzen because i can't resist overclocking it as its all new and shiny. Dang thing is stable for like 12 hours then goes down and i lose a ton of points until i reboot it. I know i'm close to being 100% stable at 3.9 but she needs more voltage! well that and the fact that my 8320 system seems to have given up the ghost... best layed plans and all that. There was one day that i managed to eek out 11k points so i figure if i can make it a full day i should be getting 12k+ Oh well 58th place isn't so bad and i kicked alot of team china's dudes to the curb :D

Today I managed 11k on my 1600 with stock clocks (oc'd ram). if you aren't getting that consistently at 3.9GHz you may want to dial it back a bit (or you'll definitely need to tweak voltage), because the instability is probably costing you in performance.

11k doesn't sound right.. i do about 7k (49k WCG points) a day on a stock 1600.

Everything is set to auto, it's undervolted -0.125v, ram is set to 2933cl14-15-15. I'm doing all the wcg projects, cpu usage set to 100%, memory is set to almost max (but it's barely using any of my 16GB).

If you check result status on the WCG website, are a number of your results tagged as 'Error' or 'Invalid' ?

Well i managed 13k yesterday and i think im stable now. Keep in mind thats with only 14 threads going or 87% (the other 2 threads keep my folding going)

Sir monkey are you sure you are running all 12 threads at 100%? I agree seems a bit low

*edited typo

all valid except a few "server aborted" (i guess because they took too long).

yup.. my guess is it's probably due to one or more of the projects i don't run within WCG that pays out more points than the rest. i doubt the fact that i watch 14+ hours of twitch streams effects my points that much. but right now i have over 400 pending results waiting to be validated, lol.

no clue why windows says it's a 3.2Ghz processor but what ever.

OC'ed to 3.6 GHz on 1.2V (just lowered it a little below this and still stable!), I'm right around 9.5-10K from my 1600, so his on stock clocks seems about right. Oddly, tracking my performance over the entire event the MCM has been the most productive (and, well, I think due to everyone else gaming their efforts, has been the majority of my compute effort). I'm getting long queues of sequential MCM requestr and finishing entire blocks on my own, so my pending validation list isn't that long.

Im never gonna have time to set my rigs back up. :(

Work has me working late as fuck and today I worked ~3 hours away from home. Just getting home and I gotta be back to work in the morning.
