GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

What about the FTW3 with Fractal Design Celsius S24 AIO in a L TopHat...?
For that to work You’ll need to remove the RGB-strip on the FYW3, no angled power feed needed if you place the TopHat in the top.

My NH-L12 arrived today after thinking I had missed my chance to get one before inflated prices, and now i cannot wait until april!

Dave Lee is going to absolutely love this case. He's all about SFF and minimal looks though I know he is a fan of silver as that's his current setup w/ an M1. Can't wait to see his video!

We sent him the updated (silver) limestone finish!

I know right!? After the temps came out the ones on US ebay were selling for $60+.

Kind hardforum member sold me his for only shipping. Big up to him.

ah, that's a very smart way to play the reviewer game :)

yes! there must have been a return because noctua randomly had *one* listed on amazon earlier this week that I was able to snatch. Ebay prices are $100 now :X

Got my L12 Today :)

Looks like the bottom Fan dosn't make a signifikant diffrence. Pachalski will it be possible to fit a 3,5" Drive in the Bottom?

http://louqe.com/img/GhostToHatTest.pdf Top hat results are up.

As I was sort of guessing, the 120mm under the PSU (XS+) hardly contributes anything significant, would be best to use that space for 2.5 inch drives, etc.

The M+S makes it so large for what I would consider negligible gain.

I think I'll get a small tophat for my all air build to use as a bottom intake which I find the most aesthetically pleasing as well since it's closest to a pedestal.
Seems to be a good middle ground if your not planning water cooling

Also wondering if turning the L12 so the fins line up vertical since your more powerful fans would be at the top or bottom would be beneficial. Thats if it even fits in that orientation.

Do you mean leaving off the bottom fan and only using the top fan? If so that will be impossible. All tests done with the L12 are with the bottom fan on and the top fan off, leaving almost no room between the heatsink and the side panel. If you were to leave the bottom fan off and replace that space with a drive you would have nothing cooling the heatsink.

Edit: now that I read that again did you mean the fan at the bottom of the case? I'm not sure that there's room for the length of a 3.5" drive but I'm not positive.

Yes i mean the fan in the bottom of the case. There is this "Tray" for the 2,5" drives. In the Livestream they sait that it's possible to fit one 3,5" (at 24:05) but there is not much Space so i wonder if that was a mistake or if its really possible... :)

@ Pachalski please help :)

Hey guy's it looks like I'll be switching over to the large top hat and probably Fractal S24. Would it be beneficial going with a blower style GPU or something like the EVGA 1080ti SC Black? I can't justify the FTW3 b/c performance gains are minimal and price is too high.

A graphics card with a blower style cooler will always be beneficial when it comes to heating other components (since it won't... well, maybe a little), but the fan noise level of such a cooler is definitely higher. To me, low noise is the most important, so I'd go with the FTW3.

The Fractal S24 is tempting, but I'll try my L12 first.

Oh okay cool. If I go with a S24 I'll be able to probably hit 5ghz on my 7700k. I had it delidded so temps are great now with just my H75 cooler. I won't buy a new GPU till this thing is practically in the mail. 980ti is good for now

Now for some sweet updates! We have been working hard the last couple of days trying to answer as many questions as possible. GPU comparability list, the FTW3 question, dual AIO question and many more. See all the answers to the three mentioned below:

1. PSU comparability practical tests performed. Tested only cards that are boardeline, so smaller cards you will have no limitations with and larger cards (i.e. 2.5-slot) will not fit. See table below

2. FTW3 now fits thanks to the minor adjustments made to the back gable and by lowering the riser 1,7mm. More about this in the GPU compatibility list. See images below.

3. Dual 120 AIO works like a dream in one L-TopHat
Test setup:
- NZXT Kraken X31
- EVGA 1070 Hybrid

Was the dual AIO installation tough? This would definitely keep temps down overall.

From what I can infer from his comment is that it's an easy install. Dual AIO results are here http://louqe.com/img/GhostElevaionDualAIO.pdf

Okay so clearly the NZXT Kraken x31 AIO cooler is at it's End of Life so prices are skyrocketing over MSRP. Is the new version compatible with the Ghost (Kraken X42)? Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the x42 140mm wide?

Mounted in the right order it is pretty easy. first the bottom mounted TopHat with the radiators in place, leaving the CPU block and GPU hanging out the sides. then the rest.

Yes it is 140mm. Doesn't look like NZXT is making a 120mm AIO any longer, they only list 140, 240 and 280mm.

Yea you're right.. my bad for not seeing that. I currently have Corsair H75. I guess I could use this with a single fan setup, unless you guys recommend anything better. My 7700k is delid now and temps are really really impressive. Totally worth it.. I paid someone to do it so I had no worries about breaking it.

A closed loop AIO CPU and GPU cooler? How bad ace would this be... I mean is creating one himself or using the perfect 'other' manufacturer combo? Still awesome!

The handle looks very good but the pedistal need some work, it looks ugly as it doesn t blend with the case.

Light wood on the wwhite case will looks great.

I suppose that the vented glass will allow to mount the new l12s

Please keep in mind the concept renders are NOT the proposed solution, they are qiuck and dirty made illustrations of the purpose of each add-on, so they are far from finished. At this point we need to make everyone understad what we are aiming for with each add-on project and we thought the best way to quickly bring everyone up to speed is to illustrate it. The better you understand the purpose the better you'll be able to understand your personal understanding of the value addition and help us prioritize what to do first.

Pleas take a minute to fill out this survey to help us prioritize: https://sv.surveymonkey.com/r/Q8D5KMQ

Why not Show All White Case VS White with Black Top, All Silver Case Vs Silver with Black Top.

To be clear seen the most have asked for this and for me, Prio 1 update to this Case. :)

Perfect for some vr fun. The carrying case is nice too. I'd like to know if it will accomodate the top hats as well.

The case is designed to maintain the exact same interface no matter if a TopHat is added or not. it is a true extension of the case with all the features available intact.

We don't know the final result of the add-on projects at this point. we will need all the feedback we can get to make them as good as possible. And I mean in every single aspect, colors, materials, shape, funktion, compatibility, cost. EVERYTHING you can think of.

I agree with light wood looking best, but I'm Swedish and will allays have a preference to light wood.
If the vented glass side panel will provide more CPU clearance is anyone's guess at this point, I say 50/50. If it will be a slide down solution then no.

Rendering it right now, but on laptop so it takes a while ;) *AwayFromMyGhost

We will update the documents and images soon with this input.

Even the slide in solution will not be a problem...all you have to do is:
Instal the mobo without the cpu cooler
Slide in the pannel
Remove the glass
Install the cpu cooler
Instal the glass back in place

That Sweclockers water-cooling build looks awesome so far. Are the (what I'm assuming acrylic) side panels something you're looking at? I didn't see that in the renders you made for the poll. I think a lot of people who intend on doing water cooling would prefer that over a window cut into the side of a panel. Just my two cents. Here's what I'm talking about for those who haven't seen it.

Also the thread for those who can't find it. https://www.sweclockers.com/forum/trad/1501740-louqe-ghost-s1-custom-loop-mods-by-faggan?p=2

I like the pump mount on that, very clever.

I'm still waiting to see pictures of the white case that aren't renders. Hopefully we can get some side by side comparison photos of all the launch colors to make the decision, otherwise I have no idea what I'm getting once the end of campaign is reached.

@ Pachalski
hi i wanted to you 2 questions.

1) how much clearance there would be under the psu if someone was to use an sfx one (so not an sfx-l) and mount it on the highest mounting point possible? a DDC pump is 38mm high so it might be possible to fit one under the psu.
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-ddc-3-2-pwm-laing-ddc-3-2-pwm

2) would it be possible to fit the phantek glacier r160 in the gpu area by using a short gpu? its 37mm thick and i was thinking about using double tape to attach it to the spine.

PS: bonus question, out of curiosity, which parts of the case are extruded and which are milled?

I want to see you guys make this gradient style color an actual design. I know it was to just show different shades, but it actually looks pretty dam nice. Probably wouldn't be worth the effort though.

We have a list of many small adjustments that will be presented very soon in hope for acceptance. With them the FTW3 will fit without TopHat and without tinkering!
