A Chinese clothing brand, KON, is suing Apple for copyright infringement, claiming that the logo for the iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra App Stores too closely resembles its own. KON is demanding financial compensation and a public apology, as well as an injunction against infringing devices

It even wants Apple to stop selling the devices containing the logo of the KON brand. Currently, the Beijing People’s Court has accepted this case, and the judgment can be expected in the next couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see what happens if the judgement comes in favor of KON.

The Apple one has rounded corners. Obviously a completely different design /sarcasm

It's doubtful that Apple intentionally copied the design. Most likely an unhappy coincidence. However, it does look very similar, and if the clothing company's logo predates the icon, then Apple should stop using the icon.

LOL at them demanding compensation. If anything, Apple should ask them for compensation for elevating their brand. :D

They changed the app store icon fairly recently. I actually like the old design better. I also hate their settings icon - can someone sue them over that as well?

Pretty sure Apple DOES a search for existing logos and just picks one they like, then they can sue for ownership claiming they thought of it in the 80s.

Apple needs a spanking, hope this one burns. If I was them I’d seek the injunction and put my phone in silent for 30 days.
