I just made 25 bucks in burst!

Yeah... 44TB is a drop in the bucket for many pools. I'm down to just a 100GB or so mining while my hardware is in transition. Even then, I don't have large disks to spin up and really isn't worth my electricity. I have a hand full of 250-500GB disks sitting cold.

I was running that same pool. Took a look last night and windows updates had restarted the host. So, I have no idea what the earnings would have looked like...lol
In my case the disks are on anyway, my personal data and plex data on the two arrays. I did add in the one spare 8tb external I had too. I guess it all ends up being a little free money in the end, so I won't sweat it.

yeah... I don't have an abundance of large drives yet as I'm just beginning to store all of my movies on HDD's. The box I had for experimenting supported up to 26 HDD's but again, they were so small that they really aren't worth powering up beyond testing. If I had 4TB+ drives to fill it with, then maybe but I'm certainly not dumb enough to go out buying HDD's just for BURST. The ROI is just to far out with all the skepticism right now on if it will even pull out of its current slump.

a hdd uses around 5-9 watts of electricity per drive usb and ssd around less than 2 watts vs a gpu using around 200w

Finally got it all plotted. the 7TB of the 8tb external drive finishes in 14 seconds, 24.5TB on the array of 8tb wd reds finishes in 45 seconds, and the 17.6TB on the array of 4tb hgst drives finishes in 58 seconds. Those old 4tb drives just aren't as fast, then again that's when I was doing them in 32GB pieces , the other two use 512GB plots. Shouldn't matter but oh well I am not plotting again. Of course the first 15 blocks since I restarted mining haven't found a single deadline lol.

Currently, I'm only mining with 90GB because the dedicated server I was using is still at my other house sitting cold. However, with just 90GB running, I am making between .02 and .7 BURST each day. Can't wait to retire...lol :hilarious:

Been going for a few hours short of 7 days now, and I've got 1,003 burst. Had a good day today pulling about 350 worth. 49 tb will be what I am using for a while.

For comparison, I'm mining with 250TB and did 27,282 Burst in September and 32,870 in November. Not sure why the number went up for November, but I'm not complaining! I'm mining on burstmining.club Not sure why, but my returns are much better on that pool than when I mined solo.

The price has really soared the last few days, what the hell is going on?
wide spread adoption for btc is going on rumor has it coinbase might be adding burst so a new exchange for burst... burst is up btc is way way up... 12k was very close...

lol, that's not happening.

Yeah if coinbase was to add Burst, I'll be able to retire, lol. Hell, I'd settle for Burst breaking a dollar. :D

Ok, that does it. Firing up the burst mining again. It is on the rise and we will see how long it lasts.

They only have 3 coins and for some reason BURST is what they are going to add?!?!?!

If coinbase adds burst before January 15th, I will give Lunas 100 burst.

like i said rumor that on dec 27 coinbase will be looking at burst...

LMFAO, you are an idiot if you believe that. Everyone always thinks coinbase is going to accept their bags.

I just wish the rumor is right. But it could have some merit as burst is one of a kind atm and above all others is low power use. Beyond even asic style power savings. Also btc passed 12k on way to 13k and the moon.

I have a 48TB plot for Burst coin
8x 6TB in 2

So my core 2 duo 8500 finally gave up.

Can someone recommend a decent setup for fast plotting/mining?

I have a GTX 950 in my current rig which is not the fastest. I'm leaning towards a Ryzen processor instead.

Haven't done much research on this lately so just getting y'all's opinions.

I'll need MB/cpu/ram/PS

I'd like to keep it under $800

Perfect as always Luna's! Thank you!

If I went with a 1700x, how much approximately would that cut my plot time in half? I'd like a decent machine that I could use for a server afterwords if burst goes bust.

It would be roughly 2 times the cores so it would probably saturate the bus and max out the drives write speed at 38-40k nounces per min and the other 4 cores could do whatever you want the bigger benefit is the 1700x does about 2-3 dollars a day on nicehash

For $200 extra, I think I'll go with the 1700x. It will have more longevity.

Thaank yawww

Got two payments today, 519 and 1,012. If only I could win two blocks a day every day!

In nov i won 3 blocks on consecutive days nov 23 24 and 25... Todate my rig of 17tb and now 42tb has hit 14 blocks over the 5 months i have mined burst my current worth is around 500$
My investment into it is currently about 800$

Just a little bump and update burst is growing very strong now my burst in holding is about 700$ now

Mine is only worth $85 now, but its all free basically so I hope it keeps going and I have more lucky mining blocks!

Holy crap, the ~ 150,000 burst I have mined since late July, is now worth a little over $4,000. I just might ROI all those 8TB WD Reds from Best Buy after all within 12 months! :D

Still pulling in about 1,000 burst per day.

congrats on sticking with it! I've been sidelined for months now. I had given up. I am working on plotting presently though. Unfortunately I've changed my setup quite a bit and don't really have many spare drive bays since I've expanded my GPU mining so much. I might force myself to do an actual file storage setup other than my R710 home server.

What pool is everyone using now? I haven't been mining for 3 months and finally had time to diagnose my PC. Turns out, OS drive died. Thank God I had the credentials backed up since I use a local wallet..... Only at 5305 Burst right now but my main rig is going to go 24/7 ASAP.

Going to give this a try with a lowly 100gb. if it works (meaning if i can figure it out). May use more. I'm currently messing around with a 12core 72gb dl380g6 connected to san. I'm thinking it should be ok speed wise using SAS and 15k drives.

I'm on burstmining.club, but I'm starting to feel like I'm small potatoes for that place at 50 tb. Most days I make about 60 burst, I only ever really make a good chunk when I forge a block. At this point I would have made more going solo. Also I only find a deadline one out of every twenty blocks on average, and odds are the pool doesn't win that block. This pool also only accepts deadlines under 24 hours.

I'm at 5,558 burst after nearly a month, and I've forged six blocks. That would be over 7k had a been solo. Not sure what I should do.

Let me put this into perspective I have forged 16 blocks total since I started had I soloed them that would be 20800 burst what I have actually made via trading and such is about 35k burst. The chance you will forge a block vs the chance you won't... If you have around 50tb you should expect 1-2 blocks in a 30 day time frame at this point that is about 1250 burst per block vs the 5k burst you will make pool mining. The forging of blocks comes down to luck you seem to have been very lucky. In Nov I forged 4 blocks December I am at 2 I have 42.5tb
