For five years, from 2007 to 2012, the Pentagon ran a $22 million program that investigated reports of UFOs. The program investigated accounts by military personnel and commercial pilots who witnessed unidentified aircraft that appeared to move or hover without visible signs of propulsion or lift. Backers say that the program remains in existence.

The shadowy program, parts of which remain classified, was largely funded at the request of a politician who had an interest in space phenomena. Officials with the program have studied videos of encounters between unknown objects and American military aircraft, including one released in August of a whitish oval object, about the size of a commercial plane, chased by two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets from the aircraft carrier Nimitz off the coast of San Diego in 2004.

Color me surprised.

The only part that I'd wonder is: Did they find science things?

So they paid 1 or 2 guys to sit at a desk and go through reports for 5 years and funneled the rest of the funding money somewhere else. Because "TOP SECRET!", hence no accountability

Well the money being funneled went to investigate/house alloys and other materials gathered from these UFO incidents. I don't think a billionaire really needed the $22 million for his company. The article has a good point, there's too much stigma and skepticism tied to UFO sightings when things should be far more transparent, especially for military personnel and scientists who are afraid of being taunted and losing credibility.

Aliens don't real. Nothing to see here.

Wait, now the government is trying to convince me otherwise...

always excessive waste when you let the government do shit.

No shit. Ben Rich former Lockheed skunk works manager said on his death bed;

“We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects, and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity. Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do it.” (1)

“We now have technology to take ET home. No it won’t take someone’s lifetime to do it. There is an error in the equations. We know what it is. We now have the capability to travel to the stars.” (1)

“There are two types of UFOs — the ones we build and the ones ‘they’ build.” (1)

Even Tesla said the Hertz-Maxwell equations are wrong, amongst other brilliant minds. They simply do not allow for erroneous quantum effects, instead electing to discard them for 'simplicity'. Then many EEs and credentialists get butt hurt because they base much of their work on them and the status quo is upheld.

Three of the primary problems with the scientific community today are the planetary mass egos of scientists and academia, the competition for grants $$$$, and the government's ability to throw anything useful to humanity you might come up with into a black hole on their whim.

It all comes down to money and protecting person's agenda's.

I saw a ufo, honest to God. Northern wisconsin on the lake after a trip the the damn casino. I was 18, family was there, cousins and sibling and I were out on the dock watching northern lights (which were incredible, first time seeing it).

We saw what looked like a star but it was moving, straight at first. Thought it was a satellite. Then is started stopping on a dime, moving different directions, 30 degrees, 70 degrees, front, back, left right. It was crazy. This went on for probabnly 3-5 minutes. Then it slowly got dimmer and just disappeared. My three other cousins said "it was just a satellite". Til this day, I can't understand how they just passed off what they just saw. It was so far away and moved so fast.

When I retire, I'm going to spend my time trying to _ack my way to find the truth :)

No aliens are going to be concerned with humans. Far to primitive. We can hardly get off the planet. Maybe take a look or two for curiousity, but if they have technology to make it here we are of little concern. Unless of course there is an essential resource we aren't yet aware of... well then were all fucked.

No shit. Ben Rich former Lockheed skunk works manager said on his death bed;
My grandmother on her death bed was asking everyone to look after her husband, he died 20 years earlier. Also referred to my cousin as my aunt, and told me to look after the cats (she never had pets).

I don't buy any of this. Simply because just as with the Moon Landings or 9/11 there would be WAY too many people involved to keep all this a secret...right? Not only that but there would be WAY too many advanced and benefits to tech like this.

I've always called bullshit on this stuff because if we had the tech like this why wouldn't we be using it? Why would we not be using this alien tech for our fighter jets and other defense projects? Why has NO OTHER COUNTRY EVER shwon any of this stuff off either? You think it's only America that has this stuff? They all would by this point if it were real!

Yeah, I don't know what to think about aliens...I'd like to believe they're real and even in history there's PLENTY of "sightings" but to say that WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY...I don't think so.

Exactly
Rich first used the ET statement to conclude a speech shortly after the Steven Spielberg film E.T.: The Extraterrestrial hit the big screen. The comment at that time was made as a joke and received a positive audience response, so he continued to use it.
Folks want to believe conspiracy theories.

Yeah, it's hard to tell with this stuff. Even the video in the main link is a good example. Clearly it's something, clearly the pilots have no idea what it is...but that's about as far as the general population knows.

For all we can say it's some Earth bound phenomenon or optical illusion, could be aliens, or could be secret government tech that not even the DOD knows about. Who knows? I mean, I look at something like this and just think that somewhere in the government the proper authorities know what's going on. Either it's us or it's "them" and they know and they're cool with it. Else, why in the FUCK would we NOT give more of a shit about this?!

Seriously, most of the reports of UFO encounters with military aircraft that I've seen have two repeating factors:

A) It severely interferes with communications, electronic systems, and flight stability of very advanced aircraft just by getting close to the UFO's.

B) The UFO's flight capabilities appear to FAR exceed our own by several decades if not way more.

So with those two things in mind and how freaking freaked out we are by North Korea having some missiles you wanna tell me we don't seem to care about these mysterious fucking amazing flying objects of wonderment? Yeah, get real. "They" know something we don't. "They" know something apparently the DOD doesn't know (or act like they don't cause 22 million AIN'T SHIIIIIT!).

Eh, again, who is to say. I think that my point above is pretty fucking solid and I'd like to see anyone disagree. If these UFO's aren't ours and we don't really know what they are we'd care wayyy more. Why would we not?

Why is it that in just about every case (every case?) thats been reported regarding alien abduction they always describe aliens that look a lot like humans (two arms, two legs, a body, a head) and many of them apparently like breathing our polluted atmosphere and are not concerned about catching a cold or the flu ... I know, I know, you'll find many reason why this can be so but then, so do the flat earth believers ...

People seem to readily want to believe in UFO's and aliens, which BTW takes FAITH

Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

It takes faith to believe in aliens that no one has ever proven exists and it takes faith to believe God exists. I never heard of any aliens giving anyone eternal life. Choose wisely ...

When I was growing up in the 80 and 90, I wanted so bad to believe in ghost and aliens but alas, nothing.
Of all the government conspiracies, I'd think something would have leaked in this day and age if there was really anything out there that the military has recovered or actually thought was really strange.

So with the complete lack of convincing evidence, I'd say we are a lone at least here in this solar system without visitors.

There are many reports of insect (mantis) head and alligator head type beings. Shit gets pretty weird when you go digging in to that realm of kooks.

Fair call. This was cancer and he was pretty coherent and actually was the project manager at Lockheed..

and the government's ability to throw anything useful to humanity you might come up with into a black hole on their whim.

This is the main issue really. National security letters tend to stop shit stateside pretty quick.

But there are two sides to the coin. Can you imagine some fuckers doing bank jobs with UFOs? And then trying to track them down around the universe... no fun. That said with UFO tech money would become largely meaningless... so this is also a double edged sword for certain groups of people and their established systems of control and manipulation.

I saw a ufo, honest to God.

Same here. Except as a trained observer who was pretty sceptical of much of that at the time, it was even harder to stomach, seen them a few times but the most glaringly obvious and visible one was a life changer.

I saw a metallic object perform manoeuvrers that would require 'anti gravity' and also an ability to either go invisible or leave this dimension temporarily. It was mind blowing and changed my life from then on - I knew there is much more to physics than we understand, which set me down a quantum physics path, it all happened really quick too. The only way to believe in UFOs is to see one yourself unmistakeably.

Here is the best UFO video I've ever seen. Everyone always complains they are shitty, sure most are and most are fake. Most are either very short, exhibit bad motion tracking if not but this is different, FLIR camera, stabilised object tracking, two objects, immersion in the ocean, from a coast guard chopper, very long run time, no tracking errors, relatively well known (yet no one sees this footage for some strange reason) and leaked (accompanied by some salt..) because they knew if they handed it in, it would just get buried.

Of course they know what a decent amount of it is, quite a few are likely man made. Others perhaps not. But to explain that you're getting into further theories because this shit is so zipped up tight. More than a few deathbed confessions from interesting people coming out these days but like Ben Rich, how much can you trust them? You need to see it with your own eyes.

Well said. It's because normalfags would freak out if told our 50 year old mainstream military tech is obsolete. Lets face it, beyond computing and sensor arrays, tech has barely changed since ww2. Seriously a god damn 1970s MIG25RB holds the world absolute jet altitude record, 1000km payload round trip records and other records.
NK is a much more convenient patsy to use to justify new shiny and job creation. Admitting advanced craft are here (that are not just our own) would cause panic and make people think the govt does not control this, which is bad for business when you're in the profession of mass placation.

Ever wondered what would happen if the wrong people got hold of UFO tech? CIA/Mossad are bad enough with their assassinations, hard drug running, child sex slaves etc funding and supporting ISIS bullshit but I'm talking even worse independent dregs of society, rapists, molesters etc. So I'm sort of glad we don't have people like that flying around in UFOs, our civilisation is not ready for it. We'd probably need a very authoritarian society with amazing quantum sensors to detect shenanigans and track people across the cosmos. Big brother god level... bit scary too.

Or neither, the most realistic option.

When all we have are supposed deathbed confessions from folks wracked out of their minds with terminal cancer pain and wacked out of their minds by morphine.

you mean the FLIR video of a hawk doing circles riding the thermals off the air field below? it got "leaked" because they knew there's enough kooks out there that would believe it could be a UFO, it's seriously nothing but a bird.

Great, so what scandal is the government trying to distract us from this time?

The dollar collapsing due to cryptocurrency.

Soon school children will be playing with bundles of U.S. money.

Yes but also, 22 million budget. Pretty sure he was overpaid to look at youtube videos.

Reminds me of New Age groups. Most popular beliefs they held (at least in Santa FE, NM) were the Ascended Masters and the Ashtar Command (alien race that is said to have spaceships circling the earth). Another popular deception was produced by Billy Meier regarding the so-called contactee of the Pleiadian/Plejaren Federation. You can view Billy's videos on Youtube; the UFO's do look convincingly real but Billy is a proven con man. Amazing how Billy could NEVER manage to get a non-blurred photo of the aliens that were sitting in his kitchen.

In Santa Fe, A gal who called herself Cherokee had a metal frame pyramid in her living room (no sides, just the frame and the base was the size of the room's floor perimeter) and local News went to her house to interview her. Ah, New Mexico ... Land of Enchantment. Fitting that NM would be the place where the first A-bomb would be developed and detonated ...

Why is it NO ONE has been able to CLEARLY photograph a UFO or alien who came out of a UFO? Billions of cell phones ... not one single clear photo except when it's a light dot zipping around in the sky. Same for the Mother Mary apparitions; and those are the blurriest of blurry photos. I wonder how spirits and aliens ALWAYS manage to blur the camera images?

firstly, you saw this 'light' while you were doing what? Oh yea, looking at THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Secondly, there is wisdom in numbers so your THREE cousins might have been correct except it could have also been the Space Station, Space Shuttle or maybe electrical discharge, etc (like St. Elmo's fire)

I do believe people do see what we call UFO's but that doesn't mean the UFO they think they saw traveled inter-stellar nor does it mean they are not a deception (the eyes are EASILY deceived - just ask any professional magician)

While yes, it was during the northern lights but it was well outside the northern lights, in the dark sky. Is it possible there was some strange interaction because of the lights? Possibly, I won't deny that. This light looked like a star yet brighter. The way it moved made me believe - slower, faster, stop, change directions. And when I say fast, I mean as fast as a shooting star. It was ridiculous.

years back I was watching a live CAM broadcast from one of the space shuttle flights and an object like the one you just described zoomed past the camera and it wasn't the only one that was seen by this CAM and it wasn't space debris. Shortly after that happened the CAM went dead and never came back on - too many people were going online posting what they saw. But I don't think the lights I saw zipping around were space ships, much more likely paranormal manifestations.

Here is the best UFO video I've ever seen

stay away from Billy Meir's videos, they will deceive you for sure. Ask yourself this question: on that FLIR footage, how did the operator manage to zoom in first and then have the FLIR exactly where the super fast moving object would zoom past? Had he zoomed in on the object while keeping it in the view window the whole time then I would have begun to wonder if the footage was legit. As it is, it's bogus ... sorry to bust your bubble

The money will never be properly accounted for, of course.

This is just silliness. There are no UFO's. Unless you count Trumps' hair.

100% chance of life elsewhere, yep. But gimme a break. It's just not going to happen.

Aliens became bored with humans in the late 90's but they do visit as part of a Milky Way cruise vacation.
