Since the OP didn't supply a link or details here's what you need to know to receive the free game:
"you’ll be able to get Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for free.” Players will need to log into Uplay and then download the game during the period of time that they are free. Only then will they be able to keep them in their library.

I believe all you have to do is log in with your uPlay account and it will add the game to your library, using this link. Not sure if you actually have to download it but probably best to do so just in case.
