Online Relationships Don't Last

Met my exwife in the end of 2015 online. Married 6 months later and divorced 6 months later. I was never married at my age (56) and wanted to give it a shot. Well, shot taken. Not gonna do that again.

I'll be happy to have a live-in girlfriend, but once she starts talking about marriage, out she goes!

Most of the unhappiest people I know are married. I'd rather hang myself.

They just have to last long enough to get you some.
There are far less expensive/stressful ways to "get some" than marriage. ;)

Any man who thinks about getting married should be forced to watch this, Clockwork Orange style...

I didn't mean about marriage, the comment was referring to the title "online relationships don't last"

Met my wife playing City of Heroes back on the day. We played duo pretty regularly, but she was in TX, I was in MI. We were happy being friends. Well, she moved up to MI to get closer to family. We decided to go out to dinner "as friends." By the end of that night I had a girlfriend whom I married about 2 years after that, and we're still together a decade later. Not to say it's been easy, but it's been the best in-game loot I've ever had. :)

And as for the relationships are like video cards: 3-way and 4-way SLI scale very nicely! Just make sure your power supply is up for that kind of load. :D

Met my fiance (she's Oceanstorm on here) on MySpace. We're getting married in November. On top of that, she has several friends that met online and are now married... Ummm... Four, I think.
Welp, still married. She hasn't kiled me, yet.

My mom met her third husband online in 1996, and it was finally THE ONE. They stayed married until he died of a sudden heart attack in 2006.

I met my wife The Old Fashioned Way - through a friend she was dating at the time :D

I met the woman who I eventually married online in early January of 2003. We are very happily married.

I know plenty of people that have had long lasting, successful relationships with someone they met online. I know a good number that have failed too. It's not as simple as just saying a certain type or way will be doomed to failure. All relationships require some work to maintain and determination to get through the tough times.

However, those of you that choose not to get married but insist on staying with the same person in a monogamous relationship I don't understand the logic.

What? What's the difference? 90% of my married friends already divorced.

Most of these dudes are just scared of being divorced and losing half their material possessions with a small minority avoiding it for financial tax related reasons.

Well if that's their main concern they should just have a signed prenup.

Well obviously there's a difference or you wouldn't have people opting one way or the other. 90% divorced? Doesn't say much about your friends...

Point proven, if your willing to undertake in permanent actions (sexual) and cant bothered to get married (which means you get to keep a nice little comfort zone of non-commitment [basically can leave whenever you see fit]), so therefore, your assuring it wont last.
but divorce is already so easy. I remember reading over half of marriages end in divorce in America.
Love is the only true bond (insert sappy music) :p

I gave up on this stuff a long time ago but still look at porn my first crush was a girl who grabbed my package in school. That lasted about 2 minutes after talking to her. It's just a foolish game if you dont find the right one. Mainly once a persons looks go bad society rejects you like the plague because you cant match the idealism of sexy anymore. I'm attracted to brains and that doesnt mean someone who is educated just someone who knows how to live. Without falling into the sex kids trap if you really want kids make sure you are loaded with time money and health.

It's no different than the Romans compared to what flys in New York.

Every time you give a glimpse into your life it all becomes clear.
