I hopped on this myself. I currently use google fi with a Nexus 6p and this phone is fairly similar specs wise. The 6 months of free service alone will save me $40-$50 a month easily covering the cost of the phone for me plus it seems their cost is relatively cheap at $15 per month and $5 per gb of data. Figured this deal was so good had to share it.

hell, 215$ for the phone itself is a solid price.

yeah i've enjoyed the hell out of my G5 plus. definitely worth the money especially at that price. with my unlocked model it doesn't come with any bloatware.. just a single Motorola app that allows you to download their other in-house apps. supposedly android 8.0 will be released for it some time in January or February.

The price is nothing special. I'm pretty sure you can get that phone in 64GB for $240, or $230 for the 32GB most days of the week. We picked one up for someone else for < $200 because we had a 20% off coupon for target.

You can get the 6 month deal on a few lesser phones. Might be worth it for some. I would only get this to use as a sort of prepaid.

The real deal is the 6 months of service here. The pricing is pretty standard on the phone although it might be slightly cheaper than normal. Basically you're getting a plan that would cost $25 a month - $15 for talk/text and $5 per gb. For me its a no brainer since im currently paying $45-$50 a month

So why not get the $100 phone instead?

Because i wanted something similar to what i'm using now. I see this phone as a minor downgrade from my nexus 6p (which already has issues with it as well.) The $100 phone would be a much larger downgrade. The $215 is discounted by $60 or so (not sure.)
