According to YouTuber AlmightyDaq, who had leaked Battlefield 1 months before it was even announced, DICE is bringing back Bad Company. The sequel is well regarded with its unrivalled destruction tech, smaller player counts with a focus on infantry gameplay, and being the first game to implement many sound and visual advancements DICE still uses to this day.

There’s going to be a campaign, with missions taking place throughout these conflicts, though he adds it’s not going to be historically accurate. The choice of era could mean that the lovable squad from the first two games may not return, though he didn’t have anything to say about them. Multiplayer will bring back the focus on tighter maps, compared to Battlefield 1 and 4’s all-out war themes with larger maps.

Not that the rest has ever been, maybe with the exception of Battlefield 1. But, honestly, I've never played any game with any concern for the 'historically accurate' aspect of it.
At the very least not the fast paced FPS games.

I sure hope not...This is one of my biggest games that I have been hoping to see for years. (Other than Portal 3...Damn you Valve)

"customization rivals bf4" RIP BC3.
It was fun because it was simple(and free DLCs), no bad or weak guns and classes, you played with what you liked most, 1lvl weapon is good as 25lvl weapon.
BC2 has biggest variety of weapons used by players, not just ones with biggest rpm/dmg.

I want to get excited about this but at the same time this is EA we are talking about so I'm sure they will find a way to mess this up.
 
I have fond memories of BFBC2. I played way more hours of that than I did BF3 or BF4.

I'll drop some cash, assuming they don't fuck it up.
 
Day 1 buy for me. Still play hours and hours of BF4 and BF1 to this day. Thousands of hours in Bad Company 2.

Same rumor says there will be no Micro transactions..... So based on that, I'd say that rumor is false ha.
 
I'm just going to assume they've already fucked it up, and will do their best to make it worse.

That way maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but most likely I'll just miss that it came out and be relieved I did after the reviews are in.
 
much as I loved the bad company games.... im going to jump on the band wagon and assume EA will fuck it up.

I got my money's worth out of BF4 ,still a good game today. BF1, ehhh WW1 just doesn't blow my skirt up that much.
 
I still play bad company 2. with the vietnam expansion pack of course.

As I say in every EA thread, I would still be playing BF1942 if the servers were still live.
 
Considering BF1 still doesn't have proper community Servers. This is an instant no buy for me. I've played every BF game except BF1 and Hardline. I stayed away from BF1 because of all the misinformation and flat out lies abotu Servers, and i dont see EA magically changing course so I expect this to be more of the same garbage which is sadly killing the BF franchise.
 
BF2 was the game that made me reconsider my love for CS. I don't think the series has reached that height since, especially where multiplayer is concerned.
 
Still playing BBC2! BF3 and 4 kinda sucked in multiplayer. How about BC3 have per pixel bullet placement like in SOF2, but in multiplayer and if you're lying on the ground with your leg blown off you still have the ability to take out a few others while you slowly bleed to death.
 
Someone should make a video game about an evil publisher that goes beyond killing small dev houses and kills off the people in them too. Your job. Stop them.
 
If they can create a game that is as good as Valpariso rush, I'm in, day one.
Great game too many didn't try. EA bought DICE shortly thereafter, and used the BC2 model to update BF, which has carried on with each successive game.
Finally, BC3!

I won't lie, EA ownership is prob going to make it worse from the game designers' point of view.
 
Will I be able to purchase it on steam like I did with BC2? (yeah I know that will never happen)

Lots of great memories of BC2. No Loot boxes and don't do DLC that fragments the community and it will be great. (also know that will never happen)

Yeah bf4 was a mess for the first year or so. the funny thing is i had more fun playing bf4 in the mess state then i do bf1 to this day.

i am a little concerned about the "leaks". im not opposed to smaller maps but if dice doesnt think about map design/layout (something they are pretty bad at) and a lot of the maps play like operation metro im not even thinking of buying it. its fun every now and again to play a map like operation metro not all the time. also the guy says "it will have a faster tempo than bf1" really? i personally think bf1's tempo is pretty damn fast (everyone just runs around in a blob from point to point hip firing at everything). if anything i want them to slow things down to something similar to bf3.

im also very concerned with the number of easy bug fixes that have been in the game at launch that still arent fixed (the light effect when trying to look out a window as an example). Or there much promised gun damage balance update that has been in the test servers for months now that still isnt out. Bf1 was a very stable launch but it has taken them an eternity to fix simple little things. it seems the bf games starting with the very botched launch of bf4 have gotten worst and worst. ill play the beta but will not buy til after it is released ( i preordered bf4 foolishly and we all know how that turn out)

i want this game to be good but with the way EA runs things and how dice cant or wont fix problems with the game i have very little hope. i really wish someone would release a competitor to the bf series (armor, helos, jets, good destruction, large area combat). DICE/EA have become too complacent with the series and they need to be smacked around a bit
 
People love to rip on BF1 for some reason, I don't know why, I think its a great game (today, no so much at launch).
Looking forward to BC3.
 
I hope not. BC2 was good but it was a console game. No prone, crap shooting mechanics that catered to loose controller thumb sticks and the big maps didn't have enough vehicles. I have no interest in playing Battlefront reskinned with modern equipment.

The only thing I'd like to see them bring back from BC2 would be decent rush maps. And delete all but the following game modes:

Domination
Team Death Match
Conquest Large (can probably drop the small Conquest maps except for consoles maybe)
Rush

Maybe introduce a version of Rush called "Rush Infantry Only". Rest of the modes are lame and were dead on arrival anyways. I'd rather have them make Rush worthwhile again and focus on those few fun modes.

And that about sums it up from what I want from the BC series. The shooting mechanics can use some minor tweaking in BF4, but otherwise I think they're very good. Don't screw up what works well. Vehicle wise I'd actually like to see some more depth such as armor and ammunition types that react more realistically. I'd like the gameplay to be similar, but some of the aspects of Armored Warfare regarding penetration, angling and ammunition types would be great to see.
 
Really dont care anymore, everything after BC2 plays like a COD match to me a super fast paced grind awful weapon mechanics.

In any case let me know when a battlefield game lets me host my own server and has mod support again and i'll give a shit. Also let the revive folks host bf2/bf2142 again as EA stopped selling it anyways.

People bitch about pretty much every videogame, because negativity is easy and least effort. A lot of people are just unhappy. And most of these entitled drones don't understand videogame development is a business, not a high school popularity contest. AAA's cost more than ever to produce, a handful of programmers no longer cuts it - now it's 100-200 man armies working on a single title.

Seriously we've got more videogame choices than ever, more discount options and third party marketplaces to acquire them than ever, and more GPU power than ever to drive them, yet you've never seen more people unhappy about it.
