Mining VTC (Vertcoin)

Well I might as well make a thread about it since Nicehash went down..

Vertcoin calls it the OneClickMiner (OCM) and it is a pretty easy to use GUI interface for mining vertcoin (lyra2rev2), which actually gets a few extra mh/s over the ccminer I started with.

Install the VTC Core wallet, then the OneClickMiner.. mine away!

Check it out, www.vertcoin.org

I'm getting decent hashrates with my GPU's, 1070's @ 39mh/s each, 1060 @ 26mh/s, 970's @ 28mh/s each...

Plus you can enter the pool URL into a browser and search your VTC receiving address for stats.

So I'm trying this out and with my MSI 970 i'm only getting 20.5mh/s... is yours overclocked? I set my intensity to 0, which auto sets it to 20.. if that's something you changed?

I did overclock mine, can't tell you the exact specs right now but its something like +130core -400mem

VTC is core dependant not memory like ETH

Also they just launched Net3 (network 3) to ramp up the payouts because with all the influx of people from Nicehash the payouts were getting a bit sprattic and people were getting disinterested by not seeing VTC in their wallet within hours or even within 24 hours...

So the new pool to use as long as you have decent latency:
p2pool3.vertcoin.org:9191
or
107.150.52.138:9191

Thanks I prefer the verters mining pool instead of the p2pool setup... I tried mining 3 days ago with nothing to show for it... not going to bother with that again even with the pool 3. Testing my card with the overclock.. as far as 130 core and -400 mem and it did boost me up to 22.25 at 20 intensity, if you got any more specific tips that would be awesome. Thanks for the help.

I tried using this on MPH's Lyra2RE2 auto-switch pool, and it works for both VTC and Monacoin. Even better, my two 1080 TI went from 122MH/s to 136, and four 1060-3 went from 77MH/s to 82.

Just installed the miner, it's "syncing headers" right now. I am a complete n00b when it comes to mining and this is my first attempt at mining. I have no idea what I'm doing lol

that's the wallet, Sprayingmango, lolllllllll

When it's done, click Receive, and then create address, and that will be the wallet address you put in the miner.

Then download the one click miner, and add pool, pool address 107.150.52.138:9191, password is x, and enter your wallet id. then select NVidia, and start!

I was one of the first guys on the new Network3, with that address, and I made 5.7VTC overnight, apparently they found 3 blocks... in 24h I made 6.27vtc, worth ~$48!! holy sheeeettt

My soul bleeds.. darn I should have switched last night.

Which wallet do you use? Core, Electrum, or another one?

You can also just use Coinomi on Android, which is a multi-wallet that supports VTC.

I made a wallet, entered the node, clicked Start... And it just flashes back to Start again.

Update: Nevermind it was Bitdefender being an asshole

I didn't look much into it, but it appears to be just a wrapper over ccminer. Looks like it will default to 21 intensity vs 20 resulting in higher hash.

Decided to give VertCoin a try. Bought 10 on Bittrex to have some supply and downloaded the Wallet/OneClickMiner. Currently using the EasyMineVertcoinPool with 3x1070 and 1x980. All are averaging between 37-39 Mh/s.

Just wasted a day on network 3.. network 3 support was dropped... grrr... Got literally 0 payout from it. nvm, now it's trickeling in.

Just picked up a MSI 1070 Ti, getting around 45 MH on avg... before overclocking. Get 51 MH/s after overclocking.. so around 13% better on OC. Too bad the halving just occured and makes it 50% less profitable... wish i got it last month for some earlier payback. Anyone switching over to a more profitable mining coin?

I really like VertCoin and what it has to offer/where I think it will be down the road, but I have switched my miners over to Awesome Miner/Mining Pool Hub. I'm having them converted to VertCoin automatically, so we'll see how that goes.

So what makes it special over the other altcoins out there? Only thing going for it is that it's asic resistant it seems.

Man, this client REALLY bumped up my hashrate for two 1080TIs.

What are you mining? And what client is that?

It's the client listed in the OP. I wasn't actually mining anything at all because my cards had crashed, but I guess the ccminer fork they're using can't catch that and just keeps reporting a false hashrate.

Up to 8.6 vet coins now. I been using yips pool. It pretty much pays out every 3 hours or so. I started sometime on the 8th of dec. Not a great but still not
bad for 2 1080 ti's. ALso been playing with other coins like ETC and such.

My 1080 GTX FTW is doing around 53.39 mh/s! Pretty dang good!

Can I use my coinbase wallet instead since I've had that for a while? I am also new to this, and I have it running at 50.60mh/s right now on 3 pools.

Coinbase does not use VTC so definitely not. The way vertminer (one click miner) works you need to use their core wallet. From there you can transfer to other wallets, but for mining always use th core wallet.

I had no problem mining straight into MPH with their one-click-miner. Put your pool username.workername in place of the address. After all it's just running a renamed fork of ccminer (for Nvidia ) and probably sgminer (for AMD).
