Who is worthy of this honor?

To nominate someone, you must give at least a brief reasoning behind why they should be nominated.

More rules and policies are below.

Nominate the best and the brightest!

From the [H]ard|DCer of the Month - FAQ and [H]all of fame:

Q: What is the [H]ard|DCer of the Month?

Every month, the team gets a chance to choose someone they thought contributed greatly to the team, and give them a bit of recognition for it. At the begining of each month, a nomination thread is held. Here is your chance to nominate whoever you think deserves recognition. Someone can be nominated for any reason. It does not matter if they designed some massive piece of software to help the team in some way, or simply added a few boxen to ramp up their production.

Q: How do things work?

Nominations are held for 10 days starting on the 1st of each month. The nominated people move onto a poll and the Poll will be open for 10 days following the end of the nomination thread. The remaining part of the month is reserved for congratulating the winner and have fun. Same as before, vote for whoever you want, for whatever reaons you want. If there is a tie, a runoff will be held. After the winner is chosen, they are interviewed so the entire team can see what makes them tick.

For the [H]ard|DCer of the Year, there is no nominations thread because the only worthy candidates is the [H]ard|DCer of the Month winners for the current year. The poll to choose a winner is done in 2 steps : The first poll will include all 12 winners for the current year and we select only the best 4 winners which will participate in the next round. If there is a tie in the first 4 ranks, the tie winners will move together. In the second round, the one with the most votes will be declared the winner but if there is a tie, a runoff vote will be held. Each step will last 10 days.

Q: What does the winner get as prize?

Being that there is no cash flow funding the [H]ard|DCer award, there is only so much we can do in the way of prizes The [H]|DCers do not have a physical prize, but thanks to Kyle and the rest of the gang, we still have something to give winners. All winners will receive a custom title showing off their achievement.

Q: Are there any rules for this?

To nominate someone, you must give at least a brief reasoning behind why they should be nominated.

Past winners cannot be nominated until one full year after they last won.

You cannot nominate yourself.

Hard DCer of the Year winners are excluded forever.

Any contestation or question about the nomination thread should be done via PM.

I nominate EXT64 for his continued dedication to DC'ing. Plus I've used his BOINC Linux guide multiple times as it's really well written.

And as an added benefit all its images are horribly broken :D

I nominate musky for being the old grouch around here that still does things when you poke him

Your Dell monitor having issues where you can't see the OP?

I never said i was not blind.

Thanks for the nomination!

I wanna nominate ChrisJohnson00TA for coming to my calls of help the past couple months to help us. Plus the fact that he has a mini-super computer helps. :p

Going to nominate MixManSC for his dedication to the cause. Even though his roof literally caved in during a storm this past week he still got his setup(s) back up and running as quickly as he could. That's some dedication!

Better ventilation...

With all three air units off the roof and temps dropping below freezing, things have definitely been cool here.... Have about 15 space heaters scattered around for different employees. Have had the server room exhaust shut off though and just letting it vent into the hallway which has helped heat the place. My office is still a wreck and it will probably be after Christmas before the repairs/remodeling is done. Gotta replace a good bit of the ceiling, the carpet, couple of sections of wall need to be closed back up... upstairs above my office needs the same amount of work. I committed to participate in the contest though and I like to follow through on things. Literally almost 10 years ago exactly I used to run head to head with Pocatello with FAH. Went back and forth for quite some time but then my work took a major turn and I dropped out of things for quite some time. Actually just got a new workstation up and running on the bench today and I'm going to let it burn in for a while running WCG for the cause too while I wait for the additional 64gb ram and the much better E5-1660 v4 (came with a 1620) to come in for it. Its a dedicated RIP (very expensive print driver and image processor) workstation so not terribly fancy as it will rarely even have any direct use. I do appreciate the nomination ;) - there are probably others more worthy and better known around here in DC though. I'm not as useful on the video card folding end where it seems most of the action is. I'm not a big gamer so no super high end video card and here at my show we are all 2D images so never had a need for high end 3D but most of the pro workstations are high end Xeon setups with basic professional Quadro cards.

Update...... The new CPU and ram are now in and running in the one workstation so that one is now crunching on a few more cores. :)

I remember those days! You were a worthy competitor with a ruthless efficiency to crunching and an almost fanatical devotion to FaH!

Or something like that.
