My workplace is getting rid of some equipment, and they've tasked me with getting rid of the old stuff. I figured I'd toss them up here, just in case anyone would be interested.

We've upgraded to new SANs, and we're looking to clear out some rack space by getting rid of our old storage gear.
Both units work well, and were cycled through and retired from our environment due to aging out and replacement with newer devices.

In addition, we're cycling out and standardizing on what used to be our standalone file servers.

Shipping some of these things would be a nightmare, but I figured someone in St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, etc. might be interested and it'd be worth their taking a short road trip to Quincy, IL. But, if you want it shipped, we can look into doing so.

1. Dell Equalogic PS-6500 SAN: $2000
Used as a data store for virtualized servers
47x 1TB 7200RPM SAS hard drives (there are a few 2TB drives that were replacements of the 1TB) The mounting cage for the 48th drive is included, it threw a SMART error and we've not bothered to replace it.
triple redundant power supply
dual redundant controllers (4xGigE per module)
rails included

2. Dell T310: $200 per, $350 for the pair
Xeon X3430 (4 physical/4 logical cores)
1 has 24GB (6x4GB), 1 has 4GB (2x2GB) ECC RAM
3x 1TB (SAS)
Dell PERC 6/i RAID controllers
dual GigE
dual PSU

Feel free to make offers, as I'm just the messenger on this. I may have to run these machines, but I don't get to hold the purse strings.

Bumping back from the dead. I'd convinced them to use these for a test environment, but that project fell by the wayside when I decided I can get by on a R310 w/ 4x3TB drives and free up a ton of space in the datacenter.

That EQL is somewhat tempting, but, driving from Seattle to Quincy would be one hell of a haul xD

I'll make the 1710 mile roundtrip drive if I can have the SAN for free :) lol
