New rift Core 2.0 is out!

I just gave the beta a shot, and whoa. This is a UI overhaul that Oculus has needed for over a year now, both inside VR and out!

The desktop app presents a lot more up-front without burying everything in pop-down menus, and the Dash interface inside has its own Virtual Desktop/BigScreen functionality with multi-monitor support, too. You can even rearrange your virtual monitors as desired, though I did have issues accidentally duplicating the monitors when grabbing them.

The status/volume panel on the far right needs some work, though, as the panel has a tendency to hide when trying to adjust the volume. I wouldn't even do it through the dash overlay if my remote's CR2032 wasn't suddenly dead.

Also, they took a page from the SteamVR UI and don't just hijack your entire view for the Oculus button menu; you instead get a big window to represent the current app with close and reset view buttons, and the Dash in front of you. It's a step in the right direction, but I'm not sure I like the huge app window suddenly blocking everything.

All in all, though, I'm sticking with the beta. They'll probably refine the UI with further updates.

Ya I'm really enjoying it so far, I love being able to have a window open in my rift games. I played rec room for an hourast night with YouTube running sorta above me so I could look up and watch, tried it with robo recall and it worked great to.

No but I've read a few different people having weird display issues with this new update. For me it's been flawless, I would report the issue on the main oculus forum and then see if others have the issue/fix

I restored win 10 to last weekend when I first installed the headset. No luck. Then I updated drivers.. no luck.

This was after I reverted back to the original UI and opted out of beta.

It ended up IMO being a corrupt game file. The UI would be flawless, and robo recall would be good too, but after I started a level the left eye would go out. Seems all good now. Thank yaw!
