Stopped by for a reminder of how awesome Fry'a used to be and found that Microcenter has an unlisted sale on 250GB and 500GB 960 EVO's for $100 and $200 respectively.

I've been in the market for one so I picked up a 500 at $60 Off. I'm unsure if the 1TB model is also on sale. This was at the Tustin, CA store. I can't confirm if it's everywhere as it's an unlisted sale, but I'm guessing it can be found at other Microcenter B&M locations. They seemed to have plenty as it is wasn't promoted as far as I know.

Woah...$500? That's certainly not a deal. My guess it's a typo? ;)
 
I'm to understand that the 960 EVO is almost as good as the 960 Pro so at that price... WOW!
 
Someone should check whether they matched their last deal on the 1TB. It was $339.99 two months ago.
 
I bought a 500gb evo the other day and they applied some sort of $5 off code as well. Came out to $195 before tax

Way long ago there was an ebay price mistake that I recall with 960's for crazy cheap on eBay. Not sure if that's what he's talking about.

Point of posts in Hot Deals is to pass sweet deals on, not brag about an unobtainable price you got somewhere ;)
 
My local MC has the 250GB 960 Evo for $125 and the 500GB 960 Evo for $200, until 12/3.

Much better price than Newegg on that 500GB but within a few $$ of Newegg on the 250GB, more if you don't get whacked for tax from the Egg.
 
500gb is down to $195 now, I know it would do nothing for me over a 525gb MX300 for my use case but I'm still thinking of picking it up.

How is this hot? I picked up my 250GB 960 EVO m.2 for $109 on Amazon last month. Maybe pricing error at Amazon?

Edit: I should point out that my Price Rewind found it for $109 at Amazon.

Exactly. I know these are better than certain Sata SSD's but I got a 275GB Crucial MX300 for $70 late last year on Amazon. Real good price/GB. It still shits on HDD's.

It's nvme, not sata III. 960 EVO is pretty much the top end. Same controller as the pro, different memory but pretty close.
