Just bought $500 of Bitcoin at $6170/BTC

I recently heard of Bitcoin IRA. It's like an IRA backed by BTC instead of funds/stocks. I wouldn't do it to be honest.

Hm I thought there was a GBTC fund you could buy in an IRA but it seems sketchy with high fees and it doesn't track BTC perfectly with a large spread IIRC.

I've pulled 10% of my holdings out again. @ $9924 I'm not confident in breaking 10k. Now i have more waiting to buy 580's next time I see them at $200.

I snagged a couple for 179 on black friday.
Ended up playing ltc and btc better than I had pretty much ever and ended up with a couple graphics cards and a new cell phone and I am still sitting with the same number of coins I had before thanksgiving.
Couple maybe 3 days I was riding btc up then trading that into ltc over night while ltc was catching up and then doing it again. Was awesome fun.
Ended up with 1200 in XRP during it as well. Good thanksgiving.

All good things my friend...

That's not a bad investment. I'm just expecting something to happen where either the bitcoin loses alot of it's value or becomes worthless.
it'll never not have value. even lets say the US were to completely ban it. yeah it would be worth very little compared to right now but there's so much money in the various cryptos. sure I expect at some point a better coin to replace btc as the posterboy. the crypto explosion is bring a lot of main stream love to the crypt world and there are good signs of stability in the future.

DGB probably going to double soon too.

+1.

DGB is looking to Golden Cross very soon. I see the same with DOGE as well. DGB looks like it could pop to 250-300 pretty easily, while DOGE looks like it could move to 38-45. Those could be just the first moves of new monster runs on, which we all know by now, is pretty common in cryptoland.

I guess the question a lot become faced with here is, do you sell your BTC for $10K, or do you go for a 2-3x gain/hedge by moving into an alt?

Still holding my BCH here too. At $1500 each, it's coming tempting to sell them. I really want to hold them for at least one year to move into the long term capital gains bracket, but I'm not sure this current BTC bull run can last that long. I keep missing the quick bull runs with BCH, so I'm going to start paying more attention to this coin too.

What is the best exchange anyways?

I can't ever seem to get an answer.
Some of these coins seem sketchy and the sites selling them seem sketchier. Some website hosted out of bumfuckegyptstan asking me for my social doesn't make me too comfy.

I use Coinbase for mine.

Anyways the way I see it, Equafax already put my social out there... what the fuck do I care now? :p

Probably best to take some profit. Keep 30-40% in btc. Put a bunch into bch. Then some in the other higher cap coins. A little in the mid caps and very little into shit coins.

Stop losses on all of them in case btc goes bananas.

That picture is definitely right.

"Buy low, Sell High"

It's psychologically easier to buy when the stock is on the rise, it's gratifying and exciting. It's harder to sink money into something when it's at the bottom. You've got to face the fear of losing money. No one wants to lose money. Who wants to put money into something that's not going up immediately?

But you've got to manage the money you've got. Not seeing it from an emotional viewpoint is going to help. But that's definitely a lot easier said that done. But you can manage your emotions far easier if you don't put your life's savings on the line :p

Yep, this is why I force myself not to look at my 401k balance and returns lol. Just keep chucking money in and stick to the IPS. Over time it's more likely to go up than down with my diversified index portfolios. If it did only go down there are bigger problems at work!!

EDIT: Well I do look at it, just not everyday like I used to when I first started putting money into it haha. ;-)

yup and I picked up a little more and I hope it keeps dipping like that and I can play the waves.
I like that I don't have to trade on margin and I am not limited by the waiting 3 days I have to in the stock market.

Ugh. I'm trying to get the exchange on my Think or Swim so I can get up to date information as Coinbase is far too slow to get transactions in real time.

coinbase was broken for a while today. Gdax at times wasn't fast enough too.

Ughh, all the cryptos are down right now. Anyone know why?

Uncertainty in the market.

Btc goes up quick = alts go down
Btc goes down quick = alts go down

BTC will now probably bleed out slowly for months and alts will make nice gains. Some alts will make big gains.

Alt season has just begun today.
