Gunship Mark II promised us a really cool Half-Life 2 mod over 2 years ago and they've had nothing to show for it during that time. Well, now they have something to show and are planning on releasing it next year. Some of the things to look forward to are improved AI, new weapons, and dismemberment mechanics. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to get this mod and revisit the Half-Life 2 world. Check out the trailer below.

Looks good, as in all thing Half-Life related I'm not about to hold my breath.;)
Xen is finally supposed to drop next month on Black Mesa. We shall see.

I agree with Jim Kim, looks cool, I might have to dig the old game disks out if this mod does get released.

I fired up HL2 a few months ago and had a weird audio delay. I'd fire my weapon and maybe 1 sec later you'd hear the sound effect. I might fire it up again later this week as I really enjoyed the HL2 series.

Shoot, I was expecting new content. Yes, I'm one of those ones that REALLY wants that #3. The ole' tripod. The See no evil, hear no evil, say no evil. 3 of everything. Damnit... i have the Half-Life itch again.

you have to PAY for black mesa now? lol glad I played it ages ago when it was free.

As someone that's played both the free version and the paid version, the paid version is better. The free version was like a beta release.

Absolutely loved Black Mesa, the whole storyline/environment was just so immersive.

Looks great, I really miss those days. When HL2 came out it was a frenzy it had the feeling of when Quake 2 came out and the 3D cards where kicking it. It was the best of times.

HL2 was probably my first "real" PC shooter, I remember Ravenholm scared the shit out of me.
Also funny how was it Timesplitters 3 at the time also had a splatter-level...oh nostalgia.

The free version is still free, always has been and always will be.
Steam version is running on a much newer engine, has new features and will get xen.

I'm not totally clear as to what the mod is. Is there more than a few visual enhancements and different weapons?

What's this got over the Cinematic Mod? I've never heard of this mod and it doesn't really seem that special outside new weapons and explosions?
