Micro-ATX build

If you want a micro ATX case designed for noise reduction, then I recommend the Fractal Design Define Mini C instead of the Silverstone TJ08B-E.

When were you planning to buy the 4K monitor? If you were to wait over six months before upgrading your monitor, I suggest that you buy a cheaper video card right now that can handle gaming at your current (supported) resolution.

May I ask why you need an optical drive? Could you live with, say, a portable USB optical drive instead?

Looks like I'm just going to get one now as it seems 40in OLED is going to be a few years. I can go without the optical drive.

I'm thinking I'm set on something like this. It looks like my cpu cooler may be a bit tall. Any suggestions for something similar. Can I use an AIO in this case?

-Mike

Edit: I added an AIO. What do you think?

Edit2: Hopefully I'm in the right forum. I did send an email to Lian Li to see if this will work.

To clarify, are you planning on gaming at a 1080p resolution right now? If yes, then you don't need the GTX 1080 Ti.

No. If oled was an option soon I would wait. But since it isn't I'm getting a 4k monitor. So I'll need the 1080ti.

Trace: the cooler you recommend will not fit in the case?

Edit: now thinking of just doing the NH-L12.

The Fractal case is far, far more superior to the Lian Li case in almost every single category. It has no cable management, sub par cooling, wouldn't be as quiet and costs a lot more than the Fractal.

I guess that I am having a little difficulty with the faux aluminum front. Like the idea of an aluminum case. Y do you think subpar cooling? Haven't seen any numbers published.

Thanks!

It only has two fans for the Lian Li case and they're not even in optimum locations. The Fractal case can hold 5 fans and up to 3 radiators. It also has sound deadening panels, but you can opt to get the window version which is a little less quieter. The tempered glass version looks good if you care about that sort of thing.
