Is there anyway to turn off the goddamn automatic video driver updates in Windows 10?? At first boot I did not even know it had done this today but five minutes of youtube and every fucking browser window in Chrome turned black. I checked the updates and sure enough Windows had installed a new video driver. I had the video drivers that I wanted to use which are only a few weeks old but Windows decides today to install the 388.13 drivers anyway. Those drivers have some issues that I wanted to avoid plus I like to do clean install when I install drivers. I have never had Windows install a video driver without jacking up something so this is par for the course I guess.

While I consider it a hack, DDU will block video driver updates under Windows 10. Unless you're running WIndows 10 Professional, in which case you can block driver updates altogether until the next major update.

I know all about DDU and have used it for years but it will NOT stop Windows from installing a video driver whether that setting is enabled or not.

Really?!

I'm glad you told me that as I wasn't aware. In that case the situation regarding the worlds worst operating system is really dire. I've got a PC on my bench ATM that refuses to print since the last update, wiped the drivers clean and started everything from scratch countless times - Documents leave the print queue never to be seen again.

Not the first time I've experienced HP print driver issues as a result of a Windows 10 update. You could try the official Windows 'tool' that's supposed to block troublesome updates, but that's never worked either.

That is totally incorrect, it does stop all driver updates from the Windows updates, I have done it on all my computers and it worked every time. I would say the drivers are being automatically downloaded and installed by Nvidia Geforce Experience.

Except that he is wrong but hey, why bother looking into things when it is easier to blame someone or something else, eh?

It is not a hack but hey, I guess as long as it perpetrates your stance on Windows, whatever goes, eh?

No the fuck I am not wrong. The drivers updated even though I have it set not to do so in DDU.
