Hi guys! As the title states gsync is not working on this particular game. Gsync works in battlefield 1. I made sure gsync is turned on and vsync is off in nvidia control panel. It used to work before i reinstall windows. What am i missing here? thanks guys

Rest of system details would be good. Are you in Gsync range? If you're above or below the frequency that the monitor can handle no syncing technology is going to work.

Sorry here is the spec of my rig,

i5 6600K OC to 4.2ghz
16 gb of ram
Asus strix GTX 1080
Predator XB1 1440P monitor

Im hitting the 100 fps limit of the game most of the time.

You're going to have to be more specific with the monitor model.

Also, how do you know G-Sync is not working if you're nearly always pegged at 100 FPS?

Keep v-sync on for starters. And what's your monitor refresh rate set at? If you have v-sync off and you're close to your refresh rate you will have no sync of any kind and tearing.

With adaptive-sync, when the FPS is at or very near to the adaptive-sync range, the adaptive-sync doesn't work well, and doesn't catch all of the frames to sync them. So, it's recommended to limit the FPS somehow to 2 - 3 FPS below the adaptive sync max range.

Though, if you leave V-sync on, then you'll get the lag and increased processing penalty of V-sync. A frame limiter set to 2 - 3 FPS below the maximum range of the G-sync will be better.

I dunno if there's one included in the Nvidia drivers, but MSI Afterburner has one in the RivaTuner component.

Depending on the model OP has, the refresh rate is either 144 or 165 Hz. Shadow of Mordor's engine is limited to 100 FPS in game.

I have the 144 hz model. I forgot the exact model of my monitor.

Edit: XB271HU is the model of my monitor

When i play the shadows of modor im getting screen tearing even the gsync is on.

I have the same monitor. Turn on fast sync and gsync and you should be good to go.

This has typically been a good combo for just about everything I've played including shadows of war. You may also want to make sure you're not running in windowed mode as I have had issues with gsync and windowed gaming in the past.

If he does that fast sync only works when FPS is north of his refresh rate. Gsync will kick in when he's south of it. Due to the 100 FPS cap he should be in gsync territory 100% of the time.
