There’s a new app that takes photos of people wearing makeup and then filters them to show what they (theoretically) look like without it. Called MakeApp, the app lets you un-makeup five photos for free before asking you to pay $0.99 to continue editing images and videos.

The idea that somebody might need an app to help them figure out what somebody’s face — celebrity or normie — looks like without makeup is comical. But, hey, better safe than sorry. You never know who’s out there with a bag full of Glossier trying to scam you.

Oh Sweet Jesus. Have mercy on me, for I have seen the face of evil.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of women without makeup, I fear no eyeliner, for you are with me; Your [Scepter of Sargeras] and your [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker], they comfort me.

The veil has been removed. Thin people look ugly without makeup to hide all the pleats in their skin. Eat more, be happy.

"Woman Develops App to Reveal What Men Look like without Hair and a Beer Belly"

Sooo...An app to apply makeup and surgery to men? You understand that is the reverse of what this app is supposed to do?

How does the app know they have makeup on in the first place? From the looks of this thing it's changing skin color and texture of even places that generally doesn't even have makeup applied.

This is a waste of time and really should be marketed as an app to just make anyone uglier as it's doing no real stripping or science behind it.

Do they have an app kind of the opposite of this? Take a picture of a fugly face and make it look better?
Years ago, we thought of making an app for Google Glass. When you looked at your spouse/gf/bf/whatever, you could use augmented reality to change anything about them. I know this product will eventually come to market.
(My wife could use this on me - maybe I would get laid more often!)

Call me weird but I like it when people look normal. I hate the huge amount of makeup vanity demands, it looks so unnatural and you know they just smell like a Sephora.

Faceapp. You can change your look - young, old, change gender, hitman, etc...

When I put the old filter on, I look just like my Dad. Don't put the filter on babies, though. They turn into monsters when they get older, apparently. Also, I'd make a pretty hot chick. :D

I think it way over does it. Some people put makeup on to cover things up, others to enhance what they already have.

Well half of that doesn't need an app. Fortunately for the ladies there's more of me to cuddle with and I'm genetically disposed to not lose my hair.

There's this one scene in Bladerunner....

While I seriously doubt the accuracy of the photos, I cannot for the life of me wonder why anyone would want this app?

Its like if Snapchat only had one setting, and that single setting was crap.

Tammy Faye Bakker would cause the software to freeze up

I tried to figure out why this app needed to exist. In the end I just couldn't.

I've browsed some of the comments across a few sites and the outrage from this is entertaining. Feminists are very upset.

Is the punchline that women do the opposite or is the punchline the "women develop" part?

tsk tsk

any snowflakes able to answer that?

Yes, I believe it's called alcohol. Near universal compatibility. Prices vary.
