Hello all,
I've created some replacement door clips for the Dan A4-SFX with Sketchup and my 3D printer to solve the door sagging issue discovered once Dan received the first development model from Lian-Li and was unable to modify the design to fix the issue.
If you are interested in printing your own clips, checkout my thingiverse profile for the .stls as well as some custom cable combs I also created for my A4-SFX build.
A WORD OF CAUTION:
When you install these, be EXTREMELY careful with the existing clips; they are very fragile and during the process of replacing mine I broke 3... :'(

As you can see they have a small protrusion on each side that the door pin extension rests on and therefore is unable to shift vertically.

As is expected there were a few iterations on the design (with the expected expletives):

Thanks for taking a look!

UPDATE
I've finalized the design (slight variations on the clip arm depth) to ensure the best fitting for the door clips.
Gen 1 worked quite well, but after the updates to the clip arm depth the doors are held on with twice the strength of the orignal Lian-Li clips!
I've updated the thingiverse collection with the newest clips (same file name) so just download them and give them a go!

For proper installation:
  • Remove the old clips VERY CAREFULLY
  • Insert the new clip and gently rock it back and forth till both sides are seated on the tabs
  • Insert a pair of needle-nose pliers into the clip channel and expand them until you feel resistance
The last step will ensure when the door is installed it meets minimal resistance.

You are a life. I removed my side panel so many times (probably around 40 times by know to test CPU coolers) that two of them broke off.
I didn't know how to model them the right way and I already feared this would be another big time sink to figure out how it works best.

Thank you very much!

One of my pins is broken and I want to use one of these. What material and print settings do you recommend?

Hey jhcpw,
I've just updated the thingiverse page with my "final" version of the clips (v2) and updated with print settings/filament selections.
Lemme know if you need any further info!
