Thermaltake V21 mATX cube case, $35 w/MIR @ Newegg

I built a PC with this case last year. I thought it was a nice case, you can have the motherboard mounted vertical or horizontal and the top and sides are the exact same side so you can have the window anywhere.

I'm not fond of TT copying of other manufacturers however they do tend to offer a lot of value. It's hard to beat their Core V1 or V21 for $35 when building a budget PC.

They do create some unique cases like the P3/P5 and View series and that popcorn machine case thing.

My Core X9 has served me well and I was never ever going to spend $300+ on a Caselabs case anyway so they never lost a customer in me.

I got the V21 because I couldn't decide on anything else and it seemed like a good temporary case.

I upgraded the front 200mm fan to a Noctua and put silent coolers on my CPU and GPU and while I still don't love the looks, it's a very good case for quiet air cooling.

I fucking love this case, I'd say it's hands down one of my favorite cases I've ever worked with on a personal build... especially given the cost.

I don't get the whole 'Thermalfake' comment. I just love it when people make comments like that and provide absolutely no fucking context whatsoever. Like, is it ragging on the whole debacle where TT was accused of ripping off other designs (which, by the way, is completely fucking stupid - might as well piss on Chevy for copying Ford by putting a steering wheel on their vehicles)? Is it just general asshattery? What?

FOR THE PRICE this case is fantastic. Sooooo much ventilation right out of the box, an absolutely staggering number of possible fan and radiator configurations supported, windowed side panel, stackable configuration, unbelievably flexible. There isn't much not to like, folks.

About the only negative I can come up with is the fact that there are no external drive bays - so if you're an old fogey like me who still uses optical media once in awhile, you're kinda SOL. But honestly I use optical media so little (two or three times a year as a tertiary backup via BD-R media) I just bought a 5.25" USB 3.0 enclosure and stuck my BD-R drive in it.

I built a system with the ITX version of this case. It wasn't bad. Airflow is so so, but the HD mounting system was terrible, low quality sheet metal. Still though, It's a good case for a HTPC I'd say.

I'm building in a Core V1 and it seems fine to me. I also got it for $30.00 so I'm not expecting $75 Phanteks Enthoo Evolv or NZXT Manta quality either. TT offers good value, they have better quality higher cost cases too. For budget builds or moderate builds my go to is TT.

I wanted a Core v1 build so badly, but ITX motherboards were markedly more expensive than their MicroATX counterparts so I ended up with the Core v21.

I actually came from a Core X9 which was awesome but just too damn MASSIVE.

Micro ATX boards do seem to be the cheapest or best value (although if you look at H270 its only a $7 difference. For AM4 its a huge difference twice as much usually). The Core V1 will be going in my theater "rack" so I needed a compact footprint and wanted cheap so I could spend more on the GPU.

For a main system I think the V21 is great, supports a number of drives, lots of space for a big HSF (I run a Phanteks TC14PE in the Core X9) or dual radiator support up top and all for $35, great value.

I'm not too sure what is so difficult to comprehend. I admitted it's a good deal but made a personal decision to not support a certain company for their practices. That's it. General asshattery would be making false equivalencies borderlining the realms pure dumbassery. What?
