HTC U11 Plus

The midlevel HTC U11 Life is a very impressive phone compared to the Moto X4 though.

I would have chosen the U11 Plus over the OP 5T.

What the fucking fuck, HTC??? :rage:

This is what Pixel 2 XL suppose to be.

Google somehow decided they gonna go with a junk from LG for it.

My guess is that Google doesn't want U 11 to compete against Pixel 2 XL.

Also, the current batch that is selling is made in China. The one that sold in US and EU are made in Taiwan only. Quality control?

Looks like a good thing that I didn't pull trigger on Pixel 2 XL..... Time for U11 Plus by import! :)

Please let us know how you import this beauty. I'm ready to buy it right now.

This great looking phone was unveiled today. Everything about it looks pretty damn impressive... except, it's not being released in the U.S. What the fucking fuck, HTC??? :banghead::rage:

You'd think HTC would want to capitalize on US sales. Then again, advertising in the states isn't necessarily the cheapest. Even with advertising, the HTC M8, M9, 10, 11 didn't do so well

Another theory, Maybe as part of Googles investment in HTC prevents them from selling the phone in the US

I don't think the Pixel 2 affects it. Rather, it's that HTC doesn't have much sway in the US anymore, and there's not much incentive to offer an upgrade to the U11 in the country without a major carrier deal in hand.

This is also true. Even with Verizon / Pixel partnership, footprint is only a fraction compared to the Galaxy devices out there.

I guess the HTC M8, maybe even the M9 was the last phone HTC released on all carriers, and went down hill from there

I think HTC realizes when people walk into a phone store, they will generally walk out with an iphone, galaxy, note, pixel, or budget phone. HTC isn't that well known here in the US and there is a stigma around the general public here that if you don't own an iphone/samsung/pixel you didn't buy the right phone.

The general public is stupid.

HTC was ravaged during their last few US releases. No surprise that they hold out from that market now.

That's a nice price. T-Mo uses band 2, as well. The other bands are supported. What to do???
My present phone is a Moto X Pure running on T-Mobile coverage. I ran LTE Discovery and saw that it was accessing Band 4 LTE but had I been in a rural area or in a different city only the Band 2 frequencies would be available. For that reason I wouldn't consider getting a device that is basically missing out on half of the LTE Bands.

Thanks, will skip on this phone just because of that.
Count me out, too. (n)

To recap, I've started 2 new phone threads (this and the OnePlus 5T) with high hopes of buying one or the other... and ended up passing on both. :(

I currently am using an S8. I don't like it. I would buy the u11+ in a heartbeat if they would sell it here. I guess I am going to go with the v30 instead.

The reason I saw for it, they didn't want to hurt the feelings of the people whom already purchased the u11.....

What a copout of an excuse...
