It might be a placebo that Dirt 2 looks better than newer Dirt games.:):) Nevertheless, I wanted to ask you. Is this the case for you as well? Does anyone else who feel the same?

The lighting in the game Dirt 2 could make it look more shiny as compared to other Dirt games so it looks better, perhaps. I am not sure why I feel like this.

Hmm probably because it was made with pc in mind. specifically, dx 10 features at the time that Radeon was doing really well with. it was promoted with the 5870/6970. and yes it would stand up very well against a dirt game or any other racing game from today. glad you brought this up.

Guess this game never made it to Steam. How can I get it?

it was on steam but all downloads were pulled due to music licenses expiring. you can still find physical copies or see if theres a Linux iso that could help...

Two things: consoles and modern AA techniques.

I'll take MSAA with SSAA overtop any day of the week over TXAA...

How? I can still download it.

Edit: If you purchase the DVD or buy from another digital store, you can add it to Steam.

yes you can do that.

I bought it when it first came out. But it's still somehow on my steam library. I don't know why they did not take out of my library. I am not sure whether I bought the DVD version or the digital one. I heard people pirate it to be able to play it. Even if you buy it digitally, money will not go to Codemasters.

it will not disappear from your library, it was stated long time ago, if you purchased it you can download and play as much as you want. it was the same for the original Dirt *and* Dirt 3 all licenses was for 5 years. all expired now, however you paid for the game, you paid for the licenses but the game can't be purchased again at the steam store, same happened with other couple of games IRRC Alan Wake was one of those.

yeah sorry I should have quoted rakanoth. what you said is bang on.
and I now see where the confusion started, me saying "downloads were pulled" when I meant "download purchases". if you bought it before you can still download it, like i have with GRID and dirt 3. but you cant buy it anymore unless its a physical copy. as far as I have found...
