Destiny 2

Currently have a 305 origin story, thats basically the best, I have a 299 sunshot for elemental and I like that a lot too. If you get the fusion rifle that shoots in a line, that is really good for PVE as well.

I'm power level 268 on my Hunter and i got a 265 origin story the other night. thing seemed beastly for the 20 min or so i played with it.

Sturm isn't too bad to get, the quest is actually pretty easy. Have you started the MIDA scout rifle quest yet? If you like Scout rifles thats the way to go. Try and get your light level as high as possible before hand, as it effects the item drop level even from the quests.

That will be the next thing I do. Thanks for the heads up. I'm in the low 260s at present.

Also worth mentioning is although I have sturm I don't use it. Lots of guns are viable and some of its preference but there are plenty that are king.

I noticed that fusion. I think I have one. I'm keeping it. The Sunshot is incredible. I still like it better than the Sturm.

Gosh... Origin Story. I don't recall running into it during the story campaign. How can I get it?

I haven't given the Auto Rifles enough attention apparently. The word is that Hand cannons and Auto Rifles flipped from the first game in terms of strength. Hand Cannons got nerfed a bit and now apparently ARs are sweet so I'm willing to start expanding my horizons a bit. ;)

You can get Origin Story at the end of the campaign or a baller as fuck Scout Rifle. Zavala gives it to you I think.

The problem with hand cannons is that there's zero leeway. You gotta score nothing but net or they're crap. If you never ever miss headshots then you can make them work pretty good, especially in PVP where the burst damage is outrageous.

I've noticed head shots are almost too easy in this game. I can pump them out as fast as I can click. I wonder how big the head hitboxes are.

Yeah, the hit boxes are extremely generous.

I think it also depends on the weapon, but yeah it's easy as fuck usually.

Yeah the hit boxes are generous for sure, headshots are easy. To be honest its necessary for the raids in my opinion.

you can use faction tokens to give you a boost till you hit the soft cap, that got me to mid 70s easily. Then you can turn in those milestones.

Origin story comes from the main quest, but it will be an OK level. You need to infuse it as you go to keep making it viable. I got a 305 exotic and just trashed that and infused it to the origin. AR + Hand Cannon is my favorite combo.

I'm still struggling to understand what I'm supposed to be doing in the main quest. I got to the water place, can't remember the name right now, but I end up just running around doing public events because I can't find the mission I'm supposed to be on. There doesn't seem to be any kind of quest log that I can open to point me in the right direction, or if there is I haven't found the button for it.

Open the map and hold E (or whatever key you have bound to interact). That’ll show you your objectives.

Quick Question. I was thinking about picking this up today. I know my son will want to play it when he comes to visit on the weekend. Is there more than one slot for saves so that we have like two seperate characters?

It has 3 slots but if you both want to play at the same time you have to buy two copies of the game. I'm just waiting around for Xur this weekend since I was under leveled the last time around.

Just a quick thing I just realized if you are stuck at a certain level power level. Make use of legendary mods for weapons and armor from the gunsmith (Banshee-44).

Keep in mind this will not increase the level of your drops. Item drop and reward levels are based on your gears base power before mods. After level 265 the best and only real way to go past 265 is the milestone rewards every week and doing the raid.

Of course :) Good to point out!

I'm 270 but says I'm 269 but refuse to wear those ugly shoulder pads waiting to see what Xur has tomorrow and maybe I'll tackle a 240 strike.

I watched a YouTube video on it last night. Like most of these exploits it looks monotonous. More power to the people that do it, but I’d rather complete quests and public events to get faction tokens.

I did it for a leisurely hour with a few breaks and yes, definitely monotonous but incredible results. Now I'll move on.

Chances are I have a dream about that damned tunnel tonight. ;)

which faction are you going with?

If they Patch this I have no faith in Bungie because this cave is better than any stupid world event I did. The pacing of this game just sucks we'll show you the world just try and figure out our Leviathan Raid. I rather have some lewt cave mystery in the game rather than so much bad AI. This is why I like XUR he's just this guy who shows up on the weekend and has these goods made by Bungie's Art Team and it's good stuff at that unless you are over leveled already.
I like how you can see other people in the instance in the cave as well I reported them all jk.

XUR and the Lewt cave are the only parts I like about in this game so far. Armor isn't very good looking untill you get to 260 light level.

I like the Airlock Arena from Destiny 1 even the announcer was good but I didn't enjoy shooting stuff I just liked the experience. Bungie needs to focus on good experiences with this game rather than making complex puzzles that require lots of shooting. i understand there is only so much you can do with a console port.

not being a smartass, i say this sincerely, if those are the only things you like about this game then you should stop wasting your time playing. what you like doing in this game amounts to running back and forth opening the same chest over and over again, and buying stuff from a vendor.

I'm getting tired of the game. After finishing the single player story it just seems like a lot of grinding.

I'm pretty sure I've exhausted this game before hitting 305. All my friends rarely play at this point. Raid done, no other content to possibly complete. Certain gear is literally 100% RNG with absolutely no other possible way to get it, I've yet to see several pieces despite hundreds of engrams.

PVP is a zero tactics joke where you can best 90% of the player-base by doing the same shit every single round and game because the meta violently punishes you from doing anything different. Unless you're crushing idiots, there's little point in nay deviation. We went 10-1 last week and it was braindead as fuck. PVE on the other hand goes through bullshit hoops instead of just using simple matchmaking because reasons and basically requires you to use external websites to play if you can't field the entire team yourself. Also I've never chatted with anyone, never heard a word in game, and have pretty much done zero actual communication with another human besides dancing or having them follow me.

Game tries so hard to cater to the lowest common denominator that it stumbles at every possible step and somehow manages to not only fuck up shit they've already fixed in the first game, but do little beyond "better campaign" to fix any of its failings. And I can't help but wonder why I'm still playing.

Like seriously, look at this shit and tell me it's well designed: Heroic Strikes are weekly. You can complete it 3x in an hour let alone a week. The modifiers and map are the SAME EXACT THING FOR A WEEK.

I still play world of tanks after 25,000 battles in 6 years and almost $4000 spent on garbage in game items that nobody cares about. It drives me to want to drink, smoke, and murder people because the players are so retardedly braindead I would literally prefer bots, but I still play. Constantly. I don't think logic and reason go into these things :D

My biggest current complaint is the Nightfall strike. Making it timed was a super bs way to create "difficulty" - hopefully they change it. I don't like feeling so rushed. I had fun in the beta version PRE-timer.

Wow it's timed is it long enough?

I'll try and get into that today myself and see what's going on. Thanks for the heads up.

I jumped into it last night and we failed. There are literally vex "hoops" that you have to jump through during the Strike to extend your time. It makes the game feel not like an FPS or an MMO at all..and more of a stupid platformer. It doesn't bring any added excitement, just anxiety if you're about to LOSE 30 minutes of your life failing the strike. The gear grind is bad enough without having to worry about wasting additional time failing missions due to a party member being slow or something ridiculous. It forces you to rush through parts of the map only worried about time and not what's going on in your surroundings, and basically skipping all the enemies you can.

The other problem is the lack of matchmaking for the Nightfall strike. I have no idea why they have matchmaking for the regular strikes, but not the Nightfall. I had to literally go on the forum and create a Fireteam, add them manually by battletag iD, then add them in game to my Fireteam. Like going around your ass to get to your elbow.

It's easy as fuck if you're even vaguely near the light level. As long as you're killing shit at a pace faster than glacial you will never run out of time.

It was my first run so I wasn't sure what was going on at first, but we did fail. I played that strike in the beta, it didnt have a timer during beta so I wasn't sure what to expect going in. 270 - 280 power on the whole team. I think we missed the Vex pool things in the construction area where the digging machine comes around and kills you on touch, that part is super annoying. I just think a timed mission is a dumb mechanic, it just doesn't make sense.

You just need to know what to do. This weeks nightfall is actually the easiest. Clear the area first before doing the hoops, take your time and shoot them from a distance. Then start the hoops and you will get every hoop easy and you should have 12 minutes for the boss.

edit: we missed almost every hoop for the last section with the crane things that move in a circle and still had about 12 min

I'm going to try this Hoop thing you said it doesn't match you with Randoms so I'm out of luck. The DLC should just make everything an easy button instead for matchmaking. Update: it doesn't match up up at the higher 240 strike which is just stupid why have Strike missions I was wondering why the higer level people were in the lower level strike with me last week.
