Thanks, man. I'm going to take a look. I don't plan on updating my TV very often (unlike my PCs) so I'd rather sink some money into something that will last.

www.rtings.com is a TV review site that goes pretty in-depth testing a bunch of different things.

I don't have a 4K TV right now, and going to try to resist an XBX until I do, but my list would be close to the list Cecil provided except I'd swap the Samsung for a Vizio P. I like full-array backlighting and don't think that's available on samaung sets until the few highest tiers.

Oh how I wish TCL wouldn't have canceled their 65" P series this year.

Microsoft has released a tech demo to demonstrate the 4K, HDR and Spatial Audio capabilities of the X. It was originally developed to show other game developers the benefits of the new technology, but they've released it for everybody. If you have a 1080p the X will of course use super-sampling, and it'll still work just fine:

Thanks for the heads up on this. I had seen someone mention Insects on another site but wasn't sure what they were talking about. This will be something to keep for whenever I upgrade my TV to use as a test so I can hopefully notice the new stuff.

Do all of you guys already have 4K TVs? If so, which one?

I'm still trying to figure out which TV to get for my living room for media / movie consumption (I want HDR too), but I do have a 4K monitor on my home office desk rig I can use in the mean time.
I have a 65" LG E6 OLED. Amazing TV.

I have the same TV. Does yours allow an HDR game mode? From what I hear, the B6's have that mode, but I can't seem to find it on my e6, so I have to live with an input lag HDR mode, or an HDRless Game Mode.

On my B6, the Picture modes are actually labeled HDR Vivid, HDR Bright, HDR Standard and HDR Game.

Picked mine up last night at 10... Got a solid 5 minutes of play in before I had to crash in bed. GOW4 looked pretty nice in 4K HDR. Can't wait for the Rocket League patch now.

Ordered from Best Buy back in August for in-store pickup, got an e-mail this morning saying it was out of stock. Looks to be a widespread issue, Best Buy says Microsoft didn't send them the units on time. They say I'll still get it, they just don't know when. They did give me a $50 gift card for the inconvenience which is pretty awesome of them. I'm not in a huge hurry so the $50 is nice as long as I actually get the thing eventually.

That truly sucks. At least you got $50 for your time and inconvenience.

I was going to go TCL but they only have a 55" model. My current livingroom TV is a Vizio M 55" so I wanted to go up to maybe a 60 or 65" - the Vizio P also looks pretty good. I just want HDR support (Dolby not just HDR10) and full backlighting / not edgelit.

Just ordered my Scorpio edition at newegg. Just wondering, what game(s) should I get for this console?

You can find a list of the enhanced titles here and here. I'm personally going to start playing Assassin's Creed: Origins when mine comes in and continue playing Forza 7. I'm also interested in seeing how the backward compatible titles that are enhanced look and play.

Yes. This was patched in earlier in the year.

Dang, note to self, buy disks of games and not digital versions. GoW4 is taking forever.

The Vizio P series looks nice because of the fald, but doesn't get as bright with HDR, and has higher input lag. For HDR gaming there isn't a better option than the Samsungs, or some of Sony's newest high end models.

Must be a regional issue.

About an hour ago the Bestbuy near me had a huge stack at the customer service desk, labled for pickups and four* on the shelf in the Xbox section.

* Regular XB Xs.

From what I've read on other sites it seems to only be affecting the Scorpio editions, the regular version is much easier to find.

The Microsoft Store cancelled the PayPal authorization they got last week. I then go to call them to make sure it was cancelled and then they re-authorized it again and now I can't cancel the order! To top things off, they can't/won't give me a tracking number for the order!

That sucks!

I was lucky enough to get mine cancelled and verified. Just got tracking info for the Scorpio I amazon'd this morning - delivery tomorrow.

Oh and the TV is a UN78JU7500F curvolicious Samsung (in sig) Looking at all the media hype I an super stoked.

It has even charmed hard core PS 4 fans...

I'll say the system is heavier than it looks. It must have a massive heatsink in it.

Anyway I do like how project scorpio is written on both the console and the controller. On the launch day xbox one's they just had it written on the controller.

Haven't done much on the system yet. The good news is my external hd was picked right up and the games on it were ready to go. The bad news is they still haven't made it where app settings carry over. It would have been nice not to have to sign back into netflix and amazon(youtube pulled its settings).

The console also has a custom paint scheme on it to distinguish it from the regular one too.

Any Diablo 3 players? This is my goto "chill" game and supposed to be day 1 enhanced. Wondering if the difference is significant.

Well, I have my system and I have to say, I like it. Transferring everything over and getting most things setup was a snap. (External OTA tuner still needs to be setup though.) I just do not have anytime right now to play games but, the little I tried worked very well, faster than the original XBox One in no small measure, at least from what my eyes can see.

So my Scorpio edition from amazon is arriving tomorrow and I just got tracking info from Microsoft. I’ll be sending the amazon Scorpio back as I paid more with taxes than the one from Microsoft somehow.

1st world problems.

My Scorpio Edition arrived around 3pm, but I was still working, and then I had to go vote and do some parenting. I'm finally in the process of setting things up. Side note, I had clicked the "Get" button for Insects via a web browser, so when I fired up my OG Xbox One (to backup my system settings, so I can transfer them over to the X) I noticed Insects in my library. I fired it up and it still looks pretty cool on my non-4K, non-HDR, non-wide color gamut TV. When you bring up the menu all those features are greyed out, but you can still play it, toggle the time of day, ladybug color, etc.

I played a little Titanfall 2 and Forza Motorsport 7 tonight. Both looked great on this thing. I think tomorrow night I'll try Quantum Break and Gears of War 4, at least a little bit, to see the improvements up close. If I have time to get to it I'll maybe give Halo 5 a try as well.

Those of you with high end computers and are getting a Xbox One X, can I ask what your reasoning is behind getting one?

Got home from a quick weekend trip and mine was on the porch last night.
Hooked it up and (of course) there was a 700MB download needed to get things up and running.
I only had about 30 minutes to set things up, but I'm pleased to reveal that MS has finally fixed color space support! No longer does the machine either crush or turn blacks into grey. The configuration screen shows the closed eye and lighter sun correctly. I pulled up the RGB color test image online and it works fine, too.

Anyone else a little annoyed that it didn't come with an ethernet cable or microphone? I sold my previous Xbox One and don't have spares. I get the ethernet cable omission (it isn't necessary), but the mic?

Hmmm, a couple issues with mine.

1) Shadow of War does not looks like it's in 4k. I feel like it's running in 1080p instead of 4k but I have all the green check marks when I check the 4k details in settings. Also, HDR is on. Maybe it's just not a very visual pleasing game?

2) My black looks a little washed out. Whenever a cut scene fades to black, it looks pixelated almost.

I had my PS4 Pro plugged into the same HDMI on my TV before my Xbox X and Dawn Horizon looks MUCH better than Shadow of War.
