Ubisoft has released patch 1.03 for Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and testers are reporting that it improves overall stability and performance substantially, bettering the game’s performance by up to 16% on Intel 6-core CPUs and resolving stuttering issues. While CPUs remain “stressed,” Ubisoft claims that it has nothing to do with DRM.

We’re confirming that the anti-tamper solutions implemented in the Windows PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Origins have no perceptible effect on game performance. In order to recreate a living, systemic, and majestic open world of Ancient Egypt, where players can witness all of its stunning details, beautiful landscapes, and incredible cities in a completely seamless way with no loading screens, AC:O uses the full extent of the minimum and recommended PC system requirements while ensuring a steady 30 FPS performance.

Was already decent on 7700k/1080Ti @ 4k, v1.02. Now with 1.03 patch, the occasional FPS dips are mostly gone.

Dudes with potato PC's, and increasingly salty pirates will continue to scream like wailing babies in a restaurant that a game daring to make use of a decent amount of CPU *gasp* must be the anti-tamper tech's fault (and "cuz Ubishit suxxz"), even though neither of the two anti-tamper techs employed are inherently CPU intensive.

Fabulous game, jaw dripping visuals esp if you have a decent rig to drive it at max settings.

Who keeps buying all of these terrible Ass Creed games anyway? The series jumped the shark after #2. And of course they have shit optimization. It's Ubisoft.

Well you missed out on 4 than, which was by far the best. I haven't played since then, but my brother has been telling me good things about this one. I will hold off until my Xbox One X shows up though.

I really liked Brotherhood, Black Flag, Liberty, Rogue, and Syndicate. Origins seems pretty cool as well and is something I'll definitely pick up when I'm done with the two big games I'm working on now (Wolfenstein 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn),

I'm guessing not you... so how do you know it's terrible?

This is arguably the best Assassins Creed game every made. I've been enjoying it immensely, logging somewhere around 15 hours in the past week, and I'm sure I've got a long ways to go. My previous favorite AC game was Black Flag, which I logged about 40 hours into if I recall correctly. Origins is looking like it'll end up a 50+ hour RPG. Money damn well spent if it is.
