Steam: how many hours?

785 Hours in Fallout 4....in a year.

Best £15 I ever spent entertainment wise.

This is interesting.
My post-Steam gaming breaks down into two sets of game styles and fear of addiction.

1. The ones I can play on autopilot late at night - almost always some single player scrimmage thing
  • Sins of a Solar Empire = 1,370 hours
  • Rise of Nations = 572 hours
  • Civ 5 = 304 hours
  • Company of Heroes 2 = 190 hours
  • Panzer Corps = 189 hours
2. The ones I have to think on.
  • Borderlands 2 = 763 hours ( favorite game ever - took me a long time to buy because of the cel graphics)
  • Skyrim = 415 hours
  • Witcher Wild Hunt = 372 hours
  • Fallout 4 - 322 hours
  • XCOM - Enemy unknown = 235 hours
  • Dishonored = 122 hours, Dishonored 2 = 111 hours
  • Tomb Raider = 55, Rise of Tomb Raider = 54
  • And a ton of others in the 40-50 hour range.
3. The one that truly scares me - there has to be a bug in their time accounting for this, as I wasn't playing 17 hours a day :)
  • Divinity Original Sin 2 = 250 hours in 14 days - (I think around 60 is more correct - it seems to be counting the time between the early morning (5 am - 7 am) and evening (8-10 pm) sessions as play time.

Since I've been playing mostly Blizzard, Riot, and EA games I haven't been on steam i over a year.

Holy crap I need to show this to my wife, she thinks I play to many video games......I play like 2 hrs a night once or twice a week......i know when my son gets old enough to start understanding video games it might change but dang! (He only play games on his tablet right now).

True story! You play video games for 30 minutes every other day and suddenly you have a problem playing video games too much. *eyes roll*

Guess time adds up on a 10 year old game. Taken some long breaks over the past couple of years as the developer support for communities has been nonexistant, but I do still play from time to time (including recently). Its heyday was around 2010 and goddamn if that wasn't my best gaming experience to date.

My /play in World of Warcraft is almost 600 days (14,400 hours) played.

56,736 hours in World of Warcraft and that's only on my main character. The insanity is mindboggling. Really puts a few hundred hours in an FPS into perspective, doesn't it?

Update: No that is all my characters and includes my wife's and brothers account. Whew, that actually had me worried lol. Still even between the 3 of us that is a crap ton of time.

Don't do it! I told my wife about a friend who plays about 100 to 120 hrs every 2 weeks, her response was "OMG that is a ridiculous waste of time". Then she asked me how many hours I played, I responded with " around 10 hrs." I assumed that would be a safe number......Nooooo, it was not, apparently even 10 hrs is a big waste of time....Save yourself, don't even bring it up.

Could always do what I told my Grandmother years ago when I asked her if she'd buy me SimCity 2000 SE for my birthday: "Well, I could always spend my money on booze and whores." She then proceeds to ask the kind EB clerk to place the game next to the register.

PS I have five graphics cards in my machine and STILL consider myself a newb at RimWorld. XD

Everquest over 6000 hrs
Eve Online 3180 hrs
other non steam games and old games have countless hours.

Clicker Heroes was just left running for many days, gave up on it.

Yea it had me worried when I ran the check. I was like really? Then I realized it had merged the time for my account my wife's account and my brother's account. I felt quite abit better. Yet still. It shows how much time you can waist in WoW in over a decade. More than 2 years each. However I actually don't play WoW anymore. I gave it up finally. I periodically play FFXIV but mostly play BF1, World of Tanks, and random things like the Sniper games or the Wolfensteins or Batman and StarCrafts just whatever I'm in the mood for. I have found that since I quit WoW I play a much wider diversity of games now. It's about time to do another Assasins Creed.

Garry's Mod tops my list with 2,214 hours.

Makes me wonder "what the hell?" actually...

Yea not to mention i save 15 dollars a month on subscription.....Wow was a major time suck for me......so much grinding....ahhh lol I'm glad I gave it up though I play alot more different games, I've always been a sucker for a good FPS though, Doom got me hooked for sure. I played a ton of the HL mods during its hayday. Counter strike beta, Team fortress classic, HL death match. None of those have time trackers but man did it play those a ton. Even some online competitive tournaments.

Yea I don't dare, I have 4 kids at very young age so that would go over like a lead balloon.....

That too is why I left. I now play a wide variety of games and enjoy them far more.

Yea, I literally missed every game that came out between late 2004 and 2010 because I was playing WoW. Ended up quitting when they got rid of armor penetration.

Mine was more the lack of change. The game changed dramatically between Vanilla and TBC and changed alot not as dramatically but alot between TBC and LC. Then it only got dumbed down yet the raw capabilities didn't evolve and change and make you think again. Instead they got ancient and years and years of the exact same thing. I wanted the game to overhaul the classes like it did in the early days. Throw me curveballs get me interested again. Instead, it made everything generic and dumbed down which made me less and less interested.

csgo 3000 hours.

and i have had many other accounts. even my ESEA account which is at 900 hours.

i probably have 5500+ hours in total

GTAIV at 197.6 hours. I think one was a buddy's playthrough but I rolled the entire game (outside of those dumb pigeons) twice, and my Russian/Ukrainian accent is pretty good because of it.

2800 hours played in Ark: Survival Evolved would be the highest listed on Steam. Going to be a lot more to come! We just reset our cluster of servers, three days ago, so we begin again with all the breeding! all the building!

EverQuest would be the all time champ, I played that game like a full time job for 7 years --> 8 - 10 hours per day, 5 - 7 days per week.

I got 454 hours in ff14, but that where I'm maxing out. Last time I clocked in the 1000 hour range was on MUDs back in the day.

173 hours into Garys Mod. Have not played it in a year though. Runner up is Fallout 4 at 18 hours. I only play games seasonally though, and Gmod was my go to for a while since my hobby is fabricating stuff anyways.. GTA V and GTA IV is up there too, though I have non steam versions so who knows.

I've got 390 in Left 4 Dead havent played it in years though. But I do have several games at over 300 hours (NBA 2k18, Rust, CS:GO, TF2, etc).

Got a couple that make me feel... like I've missed out on some real life heh

Insurgency: 423 hours
Borderlands 2: 653 hours
The Division (Uplay): 790 hours (kill me!)

I can't even imagine how many hours I put into HL/HL2/TF/TF2 before everything migrated to Steam...

Same. Except for me it would be Quake2 and Unreal Tournament. Not necessarily a bad thing though. At that time games helped me through a difficult period recovering from surgeries.

Yeah, I nolifed the original UT, as well as CoD. No regrets... Except getting banned for cheating, but that was just because I got too good at it. I incidentally reported the server admin that banned me, and got him banned in return.

3.9k Insurgency, but it is pretty dead these days and I dont play it anymore.
I love insurgency. I play on my own server with family.

To answer OP I have a little over 1100 on Payday2, but have not played much since they added Micro Transactions.

My top 3:

1) Smite @ 1,979 hours since it debuted on Steam (This does not include the almost 2 years I played it BEFORE it was available on Steam)

2) Supreme Commander 2 @ 299 hours

3) Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion @ 221 hours
