I thought that was odd when I was trying to figure out why the site wasn't loading last night and ran across the story. Odd that everyone at the site seemed to be jumping to a reaction without knowing what has happened. Guess we'll get a documentary or write up of the whole debacle eventually.

Heh I guess it shows how much I lurked on there but even then I still couldn't have missed that. Getting a good laugh out of what I said and the context of Neogaf now that ya'll point that out. :LOL: It was crazy the way stuff would spread on there over the news. I guess I put blinders on for most of the threads since their hive mind was out in force.

Guys, if that tweet mentioned earlier is true, then you guys are a bunch of assholes. This guy is literally Hitler and must be brought down. How dare he treat a woman like that. First, he hit on her. Damn, pretty bold for a privileged white male. Second - he was mean to her. No real examples, but he was. What the fuck!? He was MEAN! This must be stopped. NeoGAF must be brought down.

My wife called me an asshole the other day. I guess I was mean to her. Sorry. well, she was being a cunt at the time.... even worse, she was on her period. Damn women go all insane when on their period. WTF?!

The URL says it all. I've yet to encounter a post with non-ironic use of SJW that's anything but "my life sucks, and it's THEIR fault" kind of nonsense, with the usual complaints about snowflakes or whatever. Guess what mr. aging old man, you are the real snowflake.

I've been on [H] and GAF for many years and this community right here is just as bad, but of course, on the opposite side of the spectrum. And it's gotten A LOT worse over the last year or so. Don't know what happens in America but it can't be good for you guys. You're getting CRAZIER by the day

Every use of SJW is ironic. Except for when the most extreme ones use it to describe themselves. I don't consider them warriors in the slightest. They're virtue signalling weasels who don't care about anything but appearances.

And thankfully they don't affect my life at all. And I'd like to keep it that way. So I oppose them at every turn. Because I feel it's my obligation to oppose stupidity and misinformation. For if I can turn around just one of them I already made the world a better place.

First of all, you're slandering this site and it's users with your unintelligent, baseless comparison. Show me the bans for merely expressing a view out of step with the majority, like yours. Show me the campaigns to get people fired. They don't exist, but you don't really see a problem with SJW vigilante extrajudicial 'justice' employed against "racists and sexists", whom they are the self appointed judge and jury of.

Secondly, using "aging old man" just reveals your ageism and sexism. I'm surprised you didn't throw white in there as well. You feel comfortable with your stereotypes and hatred because those are the 'bad guys' right?

There are plenty of leftists like you on sites where they are in the minority. Left leaning sites have a habit of purging anyone who dares stray from liberal orthodoxy, so there isn't anyone left to complain.

Please don't equate left with social justice weasels. I consider myself to be left leaning, I am, but I have nothing in common with them. They're a sub group that is not even liberal but authoritarian to the extreme. Liberal means you're for freedom, they oppose freedom at every turn.

You're right about gaf being worse. Honestly, I wouldn't survive a day as a poster on that place, let alone years of active shit posting with a single account. I guess it depends on which groups you attack on each web site. And how conduct your offense. That's very important, too.

Not that modern day 'liberals' are actually very liberal, but that term doesn't mean freedom as you assert.

Politically liberal is defined as 'open to new ideas, willing to discard tradition'. Of course the banning behavior, speech codes, SJW's etc are all the antithesis of being open to new ideas, since they can't even tolerate exposure to anything they find offensive or disagree with.

I understand where you're coming from. I had strong left leaning views myself until I started paying close attention to who I was aligning myself with.

I was a member there for quite some time and there were some interesting posts about games there but that is about it. The political and social posts were pretty worthless to reply to unless you had the same far left opinion as the group there. You could easily get your post deleted or you could be banned for having even a moderate left view... moderate, conservative, and libertarian views were pretty much not welcome. Message boards get pretty stale when you cant have an opinion unless you agree with everyone.

I think the NeoGaf owner is not getting as much leeway on this because he was accused of something similar before...apparently while he was in Spain he also groped or grabbed another female and boasted about it in a post...

There's also that, and an issue involving one of the forum admins there getting busted for CP and the owner supposedly donating to his legal fund, among other things. On top of all of that, people started digging up the owner's early post history and found all sorts of crap about bidding on some woman's virginity, various admins and mods making weird posts implying that incest is ok, and all sorts of other nonsense just came up all at once.

As for their userbase...

Before the site went down their users were flipping their shit blaming the mods and admins quitting on everything from gamergate to russian collusion involving Trump. That alone should be enough to indicate what the overall mindset there was.

Supposedly a lot of the mods are launching a new site later today. If that happens seems Neogaf is gone, which to me is a shame as they had great discussions on various gaming topics.

If a working adult spouse stayed in the same room in a hotel that didn't have mitigating circumstances like last room in town, suite with two bedrooms, etc., it would end most marriages.

Yes it is not consent, but the severity of the accusation assumes it was Platonic going in at least to her. Does her spouse in his own words believe this?
