GTX1070TI spotted

So it begins!
yup. prices on eBay took a dive the day before yesterday and rebates now attached to cards over at Newegg. All those used to be miners who bought 1070's and have been sitting on them hoping the price will go up before they have to sell, well, they waited too long

it will be interesting to see how these affect the 1070 prices... I just built a new system but have yet to get a GFX card so it would be nice to get a 1070 for $350 or less

There's no reason for Nvidia to adjust 1070 prices as long as the Vega 56 is as high as it is.

When its on "sale" for about 2 mins

Yep, pretty much. Mining is still hella profitable. I feel for anyone trying to build a new rig. Even people holding out for Black Friday are going to be competing with miners wanting any deals available.

ummm, not so much. Used EVGA GTX 1070 FTW's are under $380 shipped on eBay and they sell slow if at all, 1060 6GB at $250 (shipped) and lower and 1070 Ti being released in a few days

There's the key. Miners are less likely to buy other miners' cards.

Exactly, even gamers. I wouldn't buy a used card for $400 dollars just because of the possibility that it could have been used for mining.

Are you saying this as a miner?

In any case, new prices aren't coming down by much any time soon.

Yes and I know plenty of miners that are perfectly fine buying other miner's cards. The fact is, once you move beyond hobbyist mining, you're in this for longevity. Any miner worth their salt is going for efficiency with a combination of undervolting/underclocking and open air with air turnover (or cards under water). I'm willing to bet my cards will outlast the gamer who puts the card through hot/cold cycles from the card being confined in a case.

Pascal has been out for a year and a half now. I can't imagine buying a 1070 Ti now (for gaming). It seems like old tech.

From the tweaktown article above:
"maybe even miners could pick up the GTX 1070 Ti".

Ugh, here we go again. :sour:

Card should have been $400, or gotten a bump to 9Gbps.

Does not justify it's existence, with the same castrated memory bus.

Also, them sticking with GDDR5 guarantees it will never be in stock at MSRP. We just recently got the stock model under the $450 mark, so this will be at $500+ for some time.

Is this a tip-of-the-hat to miners, or a last-ditch effort to outperform Vega 56? I'm just not sure here. But neither one will bite for that price.

They're selling chips which wouldn't cut it as 1080's, and they feel that they can get more profit this way than selling them as straight up 1070's.

Anandtech has started deleting all comment posts on their reviews that go against AMD's narrative that they are trying to spin.

Had 5 of my posts deleted on their comments section of their review.

Just FYI, don't dare contradict the AMD talking point that 1070Ti is out of stock, as you will get your post deleted in Anandtech reviews nearly instantly.
