I then read the XSPC prototype review on hardocp and I saw the 75c in prime 95 with 1.4v while I was throttling @ 1.35v in prime 95 going over 85c @ 4ghz I felt something was up. I then tested my other rig with the other EK block and found it hitting 85c as well. I swapped to the XSPC block afterwards and my prime 95 dropped to 70-72 area under the same conditions.

I just bought an XSPC block from Amazon, have the EK on my TR setup right now, not super happy with it.. throttling 85-90c under P95 as well. I'll report back when I get the new one on there.

Wow. I would not have expected that at all.

FYI, I did buy the EK block the guy had above.
 
Now we know why EK did not sample [H]ardOCP it appears (besides wanting free advertising). Look forward to the truth on their blocks. Hopefully it will spur them to make a better product if they do not perform well.

We will find out. I personally have not ever owned an EK product. Still though, reading above very much surprises me since so many folks swear by EK. I know their PR person is a jackass, but I seriously doubted you would be a jackass and have a crappy product!

They would get free advertising after he tested it and if it was good, then he would give a thumbs up. But at the same time if it was bad......
 
Just ordered a Threadripper Bykski water block from AliExpress, got something called, "A-Ryzen-ThV2-X". Looks like its a more universal version of the TR block, the description says:

Bykski A-Ryzen-Th-X CPU Water Block For AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 940/AM2/AM3/AM4/X399 1950X


The block has additional mounting holes, came with 2 sets of bolts and an AM4 backplate. Everything else looks the same as the "V1". $45 + s/h was too good of a deal to pass up. Let me know if you want any pictures.

I don't think monoblock is the way to go for Threadripper overclocking. It is hard enough to get a great TIM mating on one surface. I don't want to try to get a few more to line up well given tolerances of SMT components.

Here's a pic of the Bykski V2 installed. Just an FYI, the washers for the mounting bolts that came with were Red. For my build, this obviously worked out perfectly, but since I ordered a Black block, I was expecting to get Black washers. Just a word of caution for someone who doesn't have red in their build...
