Just over two weeks after a New York Comic-Con panel for Marvel’s The Punisher was cancelled because of the October 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas, the Netflix series now has a premiere date: a new trailer reveals that the show will launch on November 17.

Known throughout New York City as The Punisher, Frank Castle must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone. Marvel's The Punisher premieres globally November 17, only on Netflix.

After the meh jessica jones, the boring luke cage, and the exceptionally whiny and annoying iron fist, I'm not holding out much hope.

i'll agree luke cage left a lot to be desired and iron fist was complete shit purely due to the acting but jessica jones was actually really good as an origin story. at least from the trailer punisher feels like it goes back to the dark and gritty style that daredevil was done in which should be damn good. i also like how they go into more detail about how he becomes the punisher unlike the previous movies that just show his family being killed.

I thought I was the only one that thought those three shows were garbage. Hopefully The Punisher is better.....it's the last chance for Netflix IMO.

Daredevil has been the only Netflix Marvel show I could get into and if this follows the production of that show then hopefully it will be good. Time will tell but I'm definitely looking forward to this.

You mean The Immortal Iron Fist Danny Rand, Protector of K'un Lung, Sworn Enemy of the Hand?

Marvel TV show technique, create a character with an awesome super power, a decent back story, then make him an insufferable twat that barely moves the plot forward by tripping over his own existence and make sure he only uses his power once per season because special effects are expensive.

Oh no, I think there's a few of us out here who thought those shows were junk. I couldn't watch any beyond Jessica Jones, and I can't really stand her. The story was ok, just her, bleh. There's on where they are all together, like an Avengers deal right? I watched a couple of those, they weren't bad.

Daredevil is my favorite of all the Marvel TV shows. Like others, however, I've been very disappointed with the rest of Marvel's shows on Netflix and elsewhere. Only good parts of Defenders were DD and Stick. I'm pretty psyched for The Punisher, though. I think Jon Bernthal is a great choice.

I'm optimistically looking forward to The Punisher, but I think I was one of the few that like Jessica Jones (still not as much as Daredevil though). We tried a couple episodes of Luke Cage and never went back and haven't been able to bring ourselves to check out the others.

If I had to rank them, JJ, DD1, first half DD2, Defenders, LC, second half of DD2, IF

I think the first half of Luke Cage was great and definitely deserves to be up there with Daredevil Season 1, but the second half is Iron Fist levels of craptastic.

My problem with all the Netflix Marvel shows is that they start off pretty good, but then end poorly. It is like they don't know how to sustain their stories. Maybe they should change them all to Mini-Series'.

Agreed. I like how Luke Cage started, but then it went off the rails. Then that fiasco with all of them teaming up like something of an Avengers thing. There's several hours of my life i won't be getting back

Looking forward to The Punisher. I hope it doesn't fly off the rails like all the other Marvel flops Netflix tried to spit out.

All I have to say is all these shows is they are bringing in millions to regular guys and gals on the east coast. Every time my wife wants to visit her family, I go into the city and work. The money is too much to pass up and the work is easier than other places in the country because the local unions are much stronger in nyc.

I'm currently on a 1 month Netflix free trial (mainly because of Stranger Things Season 2)...I've heard mixed reviews on the Netflix Marvel series...if I only have time to watch 1 is there an undisputed best Netflix Marvel series to watch- Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Defenders etc?

Not a coincidence the release date is November 17th. That is the release date of Justice League.

Daredevil by far. I couldn't get past the first 3 episodes of Jessica Jones, her character is just meh..

Daredevil. No contest compared to the others. Make sure and watch both seasons. The best parts about that show really isn't Daredevil himself (he's pretty kickass as it is), but rather some of the supporting characters. In particular the characters of Kingpin and his sidekick, Madame Gao, "Stick" (yes that's his name), and Punisher (he's in DD season 2).

As far as Kingpin, Vincent D'Onofrio absolutely nails it. His character starts as this introvert millionaire but you quickly see he's got some serious mental issues and skewed view of the world. Part of the first season he plays the victim entitled attitude, then suddenly he figures out he truly is the villian and owns it in the most sociopathic way possible. Great acting and great writing in my opinion.

Ill probably watch this, The Punisher is my favorite Comic Book character & John Bernthal is awesome, I liked him as Shane in TWD.

I think Charlie Cox does the best job by far of portraying his hero, Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Better than Downey, Evans, any and all the others on TV and the movies. DD's supporting cast is equally outstanding.

I like how they worked "One" into the trailer. Fitting song.

This guy will probably do okay on TV. He couldn't carry a movie and doesn't have much range of emotion so is hard to identify with, but a TV show is going to be slower paced anyway and more just him being a badass.

where they mess up is the transition from the origin half of the season(e.g first 5-6 episodes) to the actual season story. at least that's how it feels to me since i agree LC first half was good, iron fist first half was okish if you ignored the terrible acting but then both sucked after that.

looks low budget with close to zero set pieces, and a cookie cutter protagonist. without the Marvel branding, no one would pay attention to this. Even Wesley Snipes 'The Player' looks more fun

Iron fist just sucks, DareDevil season 1 mostly sucked. Luke Cage had some good moments but mostly sucked. I enjoyed Jessica Jones and Dare Devil season 2. The defenders was not all bad but not all good either.

Haters aside, the biggest flaw with netflix marvel has been their inability to recoginze a good villian.

DD1 and JJ had amazing villians start to finish. DD2 lost sight of the best part (punisher) LC and defenders... to avoid spoilers those that have seen them know what I'm talking about. Thoughs shows would have been remarkably better if they hadn't done that.

Edit: forgot IF, but thats pretty much the problem with it.
