they mention "modern computers"without listing specs. To me this is pretty telling.

I'm guessing the great performance would be exhibited only on high-end rigs......Betting anything else will see performance losses.

People on reddit are posting big storage gains with no noticeable performance loss. I assume they are using SSDs.
