Digital Camera As Webcam?

Hi all.

I have a Canon G12 camera and I was wondering if there is any way of using it as a webcam.

Any ideas?

Okay I'll bite. Some cameras present themselves to the OS as an imaging device, and thus are capable of being used this way.
Some only show up as storage, though. Device manager is your friend here.
The presentation will depend on which mode is chosen on the wheel.
Also, check your camera options - maybe it's actually programmable. I remember one or two cannons having a 'tv' mode on the function wheel.
I know that my Canon A430 on CHDK would present itself as a camera and worked nicely as such.
My Panasonic FZ-30 had a tv-out setting and operated as a CCTV type camera via composite out.

yes you can, there's a program for it from Sparkosoft and it actually runs hilariously well. It works great for DSLRS
