After droves of women steered clear of Twitter on Friday to boycott the platform’s misplaced, or often unimplemented, harassment precautions, CEO Jack Dorsey announced “new rules” that will be implemented in the “next few weeks”: the company will be taking a more aggressive stance in enforcing policies that will address unwanted sexual advances, nonconsensual nudity, hate symbols, “violent groups,” and tweets that “glorify violence.”

What leeway the social network appeared to be making with targeted users and critics was all but stripped from the company on Wednesday, when Twitter restricted Rose McGowan’s access to her account for 12 hours after she tweeted out a private phone number, subsequently violating the company’s terms of service. To many, Twitter’s censorship of a woman speaking out against alleged predator and assailant Harvey Weinstein came across as hypocritical and infuriating.

twitter going full PC? You can now only post what SJWs allow? I hope twitter implodes.

Still confused by what the SJW crowd wants? Free reign to post peoples phone numbers?

as far as i know this all happen because a woman was raped or sexually assaulted and when she posted about what happen to her twitter banned her account. They stated that sexual assault victims can't talk about their assault unless the person was legally convicted of the crime as otherwise it is just slander.

woman were protesting that they are not allowed to say that they were raped, harassed or assaulted and instead were being forced to keep quiet about what happen to them. So as protest they decided to be fully quiet for a day.

at least that is what i gathered looking into the boycott Thursday when I noticed people promoting it. unless i missed something in all that.

To which i am fine with their protest for that.

guess i should have read the entire OP. :( Never read anything about the phone number part of that. What was being posted Thursday is that she just spoke out about an attacker and her account was banned as a result. Posting a phone number is a tad fucked up.

I'd like to see statistics that proof this "boycott" actually happened, and it isn't just some ~1,000 person PR campaign that twitter either A. orchestrated themselves B. was paid to endorse and have a "call to action".

Either way, it will never be enough for the loud fringe groups; and I welcome twitter imploding itself.

People are fucking idiots. She was temp banned for posting a phone number. I'm gonna guess those same people wouldn't like THEIR phone number posted on twitter. But sure, go ahead and get all irate.

I dont use twitter. Is it against the rules to post phone numbers?

Otherwise, all I hear is "waaahhh I cant do what I want waaahhh".

So is rape.

I fully agree. I didn't mean to give the impression that it wasn't.

However there is still a line. If you cross a certain line unfortunately it removes any validity from your story and can help your attacker prove any story that they have, or at the very least gets you in trouble for something completely different.

Lets use one of the many famous people caught up in this stuff now. Saying that Harvey Weinstein did something to you is one thing. Posting all his phone numbers, his street address and the gate and alarm codes to his house would be a complete other. The first is to help spread awareness of what happen to encourage others to come forward. The second is to encourage attacks on the person. The second can get you in trouble for going after the person publically. It also could help your attacker try to spin things to show that you are just jealous of some lack of relationship and that you hold a grudge against them.

She was banned for posting a phone number. SJW don't care about facts, so they got their undies all in a bunch, picked up the ball and went home.

And why is that problem? That's the issue. If you hate people being overly sensitive then this should be no thing. Unless of course you're being hypocritical. Meaning that as long as you agree with the messenger then you have no problem, but the moment you don't agree with the messenger then they should be censored. That's the thing be careful of what you wish for because the door swings both ways.

Women can, and do, the same jobs as men. They should be paid the same. It's working on 2018, this shit is ridiculous.

Yes, SJW has gone insane, just like Affirmative Action. I have no solution for that stuff. Anybody who dares to challenge those two issues will be crucified in the press.

I don't think either of those two topics have. Really I don't see much evidence of it either. Seems more like right wing propaganda. I mean really AA? It's been in force barely 50 years. This is shorter than the average human life.

I wonder how many of those women had blue hair and went into withdrawals after the second hour?

They should really show everyone they're really serious and do it 24/7, 365 days a year, for the next decade.
