Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer

Lol right? I already pre-paid for an early showing at the Atmos theater here.

Me and my boy will be enjoying this.

I just booked tickets for my 3 kids and I for an early morning showing on Sat the 16th at Alamo Drafthouse...got my holy grail seats: dead center at the top-most row under the projector window.

Still debating on whether to tell them now, or keep it a surprise. Maybe I'll break the news after I shower them the trailer.

I'll be seeing it in my local Dolby Cinema theater here in NYC...if your city has a Dolby Cinema screen make sure to see all your movies there...best picture and sound I've ever experienced

Agreed. A few of the screening rooms in many of the theaters around me have recently updated to the 4K digital projectors and Atmos audio systems...it's an amazing experience. I made sure the showtime I selected was just that, so I'm pumped.

It would be cool if they didn't fall into such predictable outcomes. I would like to see Kylo come to the light side and Rey fall to the dark by the end of this movie. Not just stupid predictable temptation but actually go through with it.

I haven't been able to find any bona fide info stating that this will or will not happen.

Lots of fan theories, but that's all I could muster up about it:

But the fall of a Jedi to the dark side is what the entire Prequel Trilogy was about. Literally what the most recent trilogy was about.

Yeah that's true I guess. I dont think they have to focus on it that much. I don't know, I'm not a huge die hard fan but I'll definitely see this. They're just usually pretty predictable but I guess it's about the journey and all.

We do not have any Dolby Cinemas here :(.

Do me a favor. Go to any Star Wars forum that you can find online, and look for threads regarding Predictions for Episode 7. Predictions people made before the film was released. well over 90% of Star Wars fans were completely and utterly wrong about their predictions. You seem to think that the recent films were predictable, but if you genuinely did your research on it, I promise you that you're wrong. Lots of people predicted Han's death, but that was really about it. I've spent days reading these predictions so i'm qualified to speak on behalf of them.

You're severely overestimating the amount that I care about this :)

This is true, but we haven't seen a complete swap of roles where the antagonist becomes the protagonist and vice-versa. There's redemptions and downfalls throughout the history of the Star Wars universe.

I think that Luke will go Dark while Rey & Kylo try to stop him.

Do me a favor. Go onto any normie movie discussion board and find the Episode 7 Predictions thread. Predictions made before the film released by people that didn't have a SW themed wedding/porno tape. Well over 90% of not-diehard star wars fan were completely and utterly RIGHT about their predictions. Safe movie, not taking chances, Han Solo dies, completely ignored the prequels, Mary Sue Lead, shitting on the original trilogy. I've spent days reading these predictions so I'm qualified to speak on behalf of them.

Plus you know, the all the spoilers which were 100% right and the ones for E8 that will also be right.

As far as the trailer goes, it spoils WAY too much. Even if they are red herrings (such as the suggestion that Kylo kills Leia during space battle), they point towards major events of the film. Hell the whole Snoke/Rey scene in itself is a massive spoiler, imo. People that want to enjoy this movie for as best as it could be...should go in blind.

A bunch of whiners and complainers. I wish some of the people here made movies because they would be so awesome.

I have lots of awesome ideas. Such as my idea of making Suicide Squad a Teen Titans movie. Same basic plot, change it from "have a team of villains" to "making a team of the future heroes", BAM film is fixed and separated enough from the main universe that you can be adventurous.

"Shitting on the Original Trilogy" is a completely opinion based statement and not a bit of proof that casual movie-goers were right about how episode 7 would turn out. I have never had a Star Wars themed wedding, nor a Star Wars themed porno, however I was rather fond of The Force Awakens.

I enjoyed Rogue One. I hated Force Awakens. I have no desire to see this in a movie theater. I'll wait until it is on Amazon Video and rent it. I feel nothing for the characters. The only good thing I saw out of Kylo was the SNL skit of Undercover Boss about him.
My feelings (or lack thereof) exactly. There some spark missing in these movies which the original trilogy had that I can't quite put my finger on. Even the shitty prequel trilogy had more of that spark.

I don't actively hate the new movies, they just elicit no emotional response from me, which is frustrating. On paper they're the sort of movies I love. Just bland characterization, I suppose, well beyond the eye-rolling Mary Sue.

I can put my finger on it: space gerbils.

Seriously though I blame it somewhat on the weird casting choices. I think Adam Driver is a legit talent based on other stuff he's been in, but he's completely wrong for Star Wars. Daisy Ridley, same thing.

And the writing has been campy and predictable. Granted it's Disney and it's geared toward younger minds not yet fully developed, but the original films were darker and grittier and had a kind of weight to them - even if Lucas was an utter buffoon.

The new films feel like a bunch of millennials in a star wars simulator ride at universal studios.
