Swiss researchers have recently developed and outlined some ideas for "Soft Pneumatic Gelatin Actuators for Edible Robotics." These squishy air-powered robot fingers are made up of a mix of gelatin, glycerin, and water, making it edible and biodegradable. Mainly used to handle delicate items such as food, robots built completely with this tech could be used as "prey robots" as described by the Verge.

Terminator building process starts here.

None of these functions are likely to come to fruition in the near future, but the researchers at EPFL’s Laboratory of Intelligent Systems are dreaming big. They even suggest that rather than humans eating the edible robots, the robots could eat themselves — with the gelatin providing an emergency source of energy for a struggling bot. Typical robots: always taking food out of humans’ mouths.

I'm not an old man, but I'm already beginning to feel like I've lived too long.

Are they sure they want to put robots on a diet that is made of organic lifeforms?
From Wikipedia:
Gelatin or gelatine, is a translucent, colorless, brittle (when dry), flavorless food derived from collagen obtained from various animal body parts.
This will not end well. Before this we were only concerned about AI driven robots just killing us.

Oh sure it starts innocent enough with edible robot fingers. The problem is we all know this ends with the harvesting of human horn.

When they figure out they can eat us instead of destroying themselves this will be what nightmares are made of.

The fingers reminded me of the first time I finger-banged my long term girlfriend.
