so if newegg listed it and took it down and it was out of stock then....does that mean they will just relist it as out of stock?!?!?

Intel should have stamped ...

8700k Gaming 8

Lol would be an even bigger seller... or...

8700k Tactical Gamer

Because everyone knows Tacticool is cool.

Piss me off, it is no 15min past midnight here in london.

Still no friggin 8700K for sale!!!!!

so silicon lottery stated they likely be affected by the shortage as well and will have issues at launch, looks like its global.

I just left Microcebter and my guy went in back and actually looked and they have tons of 8600 but zero 8700k and a TON of boards. Ill probably snatch a Strix ITX and get a chip when I can.

Are there any legit leaked reviews out yet?

Not terribly surprising launch stock is low. They can only make so many so fast and have to spread that to all retailers all over the world. Stock will likely improve in a month or so.

Just picked up the ASrock Z370 Extreme4, $155 after $10 mail in rebate. Seems to have the same OC ability as most of the other boards in the ASrock line but I don't pay for any of the extras that I don't need.

I'm going to be using that same Noctua cooler and I think you could get away in gaming with a slight overclock. I personally am probably going to run it at 4Ghz on all 6 cores. I'm considering disabling some cores(and hyperthreading) and going to 5ghz for emulation. If I couldn't get my hands on the 8700K, I would have gotten the 8700 because the differences aren't much aside the unlocked multiplier and the 500mhz base jump.

If I had space to put in a better fan, I think so as well. As it stands though, I'll be using this system is a quiet environment so 65W it is. I imagine I'll still get great performance in games anyway.

Anyone have any idea when the H370 boards are going to drop...?

Q1.
Just in time to "Wait for Ryzen2". tbh if you are not building around Z370 (8600K/8700K) Ryzen refresh is probably going to be a better choice.

But when Ryzen 2 drops, it will be time to wait for Ice Lake...

And then when Ice Lake drops, it will be time to wait for Ryzen 3...

And when Ryzen 3 drops, it will be time to wait for Tiger Lake...

And then throw Pascal, or wait for Volta into the mix...

Or wait for Navi...

Or, or, or...! ;^p

Any mobo stand out for you guys? I can't decide because there are too many choices lol. Looks like I'll be going 8700K which should be a super nice boost from the system in my sig. PUBG needs more power...

What about ram nowadays?

The ITX boards? ;)

Remember to get some fast DDR4 to avoid losing too much of the potential. Ever since SKL you couldn´t get fast enough memory really.

I ended up with 3200 cas14. But I also need low profile for my D15 which limited my choices...

Says the dude with tangoseal as a screen name... ;^p

Sais the dude that is 36 years old and has had the name since 16. That was 20 years ago. Waaaaaay before people cared two shits about tactical anything. Way before many of you reading this was even born.

Where the heck are the reviews? I know Hard[OCP] sometimes takes a little extra time... But if I remember correctly, aren't there usually at least a few CPU reviews posted from other sites when the embargo/NDA ends at midnight?

This is for all intents and purposes, a paper launch.
Looking around, it seems like we won't get wide availability until the last week of October.

Happy Halloween.

All but K models still in stock at Newegg.

And seems amazon UK drained all amazon US stock. People report they get shipping from the US.

Embargo is 6am PDT from what I was told.
