Heh yeah. I bet you've never stopped and analysed what Facebook is and how useful it is to your life. It's an abomination that is destroying the modern society like cancer from inside.
Because its not useful to me. I dont get on there much and what little I do post is either pictures of my planes or my dog. Thats it.
And I take this as gospel from Facebook...NOT! https://www.wsj.com/articles/facebook-overestimated-key-video-metric-for-two-years-1474586951
I don't know anyone whose vote was swayed by an ad, much less a facebook ad. There were a lot of stupid ads from all sides of the political spectrum on facebook.
Those ads probably didn't do much at all by themselves. However, Russia did leak the Podesta emails, which were likely altered to make him look like he was running a satanic pedo pizza ring. The whole Podesta/Pizzagate story, is the kind of thing that the Internet Research Agency would create or fan the flames on social media to influence the election. With the viral stories, the ads could have been used to add a sense of authenticity, and make people believe that these were pressing issues right before the election. Don't get me wrong, it was a lose-lose election with either candidate.
Interesting... All the super advanced Russians did was tune in our right wing media, and chose some push button issues.. wooowowowowowowoowo... I mean its simple and well tuned... NOTHING we aren't already soaked in ( depending on what you pay attention in radio tv and so on)Below is an example of the "ADs" that Russia was running. It seems to me that they are more like memes that got shared and that you often see people sharing on Facebook.

From that point, shouldn't the US stop doing exactly what it's accusing foreign governments of doing?Personally I don't care if a candidate spent a trillion dollars on ads (although that would be pushing the button of insanity) and some foreign nation spent 10 cents on ads. The fact of the matter is no one should want a foreign influence to decide who our leader will be regardless of how ineffective it might be.
Hey this isn't a case of "they do it too", as a foreign nation yeah I wouldn't want the US to influence our laws, leaders, etc. But honestly that's up to them to stop that shit. From a US standpoint if it benefits us we'll do it as long as we can, and yeah I realize that's exactly why foreign nations would it as well, bottom line is you need to secure your shit in your own backyard. From that point, shouldn't the US stop doing exactly what it's accusing foreign governments of doing?
