Kerberal Space Program- Awesome space indie game

I love the game but I absolutely hate the mod management and how at the time I was playing it pretty much every patch totally broke most every mod and your old game saves didn't work anymore.

I vividly remember rage quitting because of that shit. I have since tried it once maybe half a year ago and mod management was still awful with some mods working with one of the mod managers I tried while others did not. The lack of standardization when it comes to mod distribution was disturbing considering how much time goes into mod development.

May check it again in a year or so, great game, but the mod related end-user frustration was just unacceptable to me.

There was another update about two months ago or so that added more stuff to career mode, and new parts. I would say it's really beginning to be popular.

And yes, the updates breaking mods every time is incredibly annoying to me as well, but then again that goes for most other games too, like Minecraft. Anything beyond basic textures and such that digs into and relies on the game's internal code will be like that.

Funny thing is, I bought the game a few months back during the summer sale I think, I have yet to install it.......

Maybe I should

According to a friend of mine, its got a learning curve in the beginning and doesn't exactly hold your hand (which means you'll need to watch tutorials on youtube), but once you get over the curve, you are hooked.

Wow, I hadn't realize how long it had been since this thread had been active and normally I wouldn't necro something but this is kind of a big thing for this game.

Take2 Acquires Kerbal Space Program

i'm glad the developers got the money they deserved since it originally started with 2 friends but if they're no longer developing the game anymore and take2 has control of development i think i'll finally be done with the game.. have a feeling they'll oversimplify it so the average joe can play it. been playing it since the alpha and use to develop mods for the game years ago.

Squad is still leading development.

No need to panic heh

I still fire it up every now and then. Good way to kill a few hours when I don't feel like playing boats.

love this game. there is supposed to be an expansion coming out at some point. be interesting to see if anything changes because of the acquisition

Do people still play this I remember spending some time
I do occasionally. Will be playing it in the next few weeks for sure, been playing the game on and off since early access. It's one of my favorite games still :|

Going to have to revisit Kerbal you inspiried me

If you haven't make sure you get some mods, they definitely helped me stay interested in the game. I couldn't do interplanetary travel without them, I only made it to the Mun and Minmus without mods. I could probably do Duna without mods but it would require too much time to plan things out. I only play career mode so I could have probably did some tests in the sandbox mode to make things simpler, but I've just stuck with the same career for like 4 years.

I recommend: Kerbal Engineer Redux and Kerbal Alarm Clock for starters.

I know there are some other good mods out there now, but I haven't really looked into them since I play the game a few hours here and there on and off. If anyone knows of any newer mods that are must haves let me know

Mods are critical for me as well. Without the ability to automate much of the minutia, I'd never play beyond seeing how many rockets I could blow up.

Did they ever add an auto pilot one? I like building ships but not all the get the orbits Right

MechJeb does a pretty good job overall as an autopilot.

Edit: There is also Kramax but I haven't tried it.
