In a press release today, Samsung has announced that they will be joining forces with Xbox for "Marketing and Retail Partnership for QLED TV and Xbox One X in the U.S." This fall various locations will give gamers the opportunity to experience the Xbox One X on 4k HDR Samsung QLED TVs at various locations throughout the US.

With the price and drawbacks of OLED I'm quite interested in the Quantum dot TVs, and hopefully this partnership will drive some sales to get the prices down even more. Makes you wonder if there will be a $2,500 Xbox bundle in the future that comes with a Samsung QLED TV. While I'm not a console gamer, it will be interesting to see if the Xbox One X will live up to the massive hype.

"Xbox One X will bring true 4K gaming to console players for the first time with 40 percent more power than any other console," said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Xbox. "Samsung’s QLED 4K TV is our favorite way to play Xbox One X, and we’re thrilled to join forces with Samsung in the U.S. to deliver immersive 4K gaming experiences to our fans."

Deliver 1080p with a minimum of 60FPS across the board before talking about 4k nonsense that only benefits an insignificant percentage of TV sets. If the TV isn't a minimum of 65" than 4k is irrelevant marketing drivel.

Samsung not supporting Dolby Vision.....EPIC FAIL.

Nope, it's not. Dolby Vision OVERRIDES your CALIBRATED TV settings, which is why Samsung rejected the technology. HDR10 (and HDR10+) respect calibration. Dolby Vision's main benefit over HDR10 is that it offers dynamic meta data, allowing the dynamic range to be adjusted scene by scene, where HDR10 has static metadata, applying a single dynamic range across the entire movie. HDR10+ addresses that weakness. Additionally, Samsung isnt the only manufacturer promoting HDR10+, as Panasonic has signed on as well. You are more likely to see Dolby Vision fade from sight than HDR10 as well...since HDR10 is STANDARD on UHD blu-ray, and DV is OPTIONAL.

My 65" OLED is less expensive than a 65" QLED. Samsung's edge lit QLED is overpriced.
