Hey Guys! I know what your thinking, those words don't belong together however I've used many keyboards from Corsair's K series Mechanical to a Ducky Shine Mechanical and I prefer/perform my best in games when using my Alienware 17 r3 keyboard (I'm in the minority, I know.) With my typing style, my fingers never leave the keyboard surface and slide across the keys. I also sometimes hit the very left corner or very right corner of a key and the scissor switch mechanism saves me (The key doesn't tilt and throw me.) However, finding a keyboard with low profile, chick-let like keys that use scissor switches that's both illuminated and has anti-ghosting features is non-existent. I looked at the Logitech K740 which has ghosting issues and the Cougar K200 which has quality issues and can't find anything else. Anyone have any other recommendation?

You are not the only one - I hate mechanical keyboards - they are too loud. Would love to hear recommendations as well!

I can't type worth a damn on mech keyboards, though gaming is great on them. My daily typing keyboard is the Logitech K810. It's rechargeable, illuminated, and has Bluetooth connectivity, so you can use it with a tablet and cell phone, too. It's also got a nice, compact footprint. I love it.

You can get o-rings on the keys that quiet them down. Personally once I went to a mechanical board there was no way I could ever ever go back to anything else. I don't mind the noise of the MX Red keys I have but I did read about o rings you can get to lower their audible noise.

As far as lo-pro boards I am right there with you. The current desk I have now has a small area for a KB+M the way I want to use it. I like having a lot of mouse pad space as I do play games and favor low sensitivity. So basically I need keyboards with no number pads or at least ones that are seriously compact. Right now I am using the Corsair K65 Lux RGB. It is a mechanical board with MX Red switches. It has no number pad and it is pretty compact, though definitely not super small lap top style.

If you're not worried about mechanical boards or something super high quality go head into your local Best Buy or Office Max. In Office Max the other day I noticed they had a lot of realllly small wireless keyboards that were incredibly low profile and thin. Maybe you'll need something like that.

Maybe Microsoft Sculpt keyboard? They have couple models, search for it on Amazon.

My brother swears by these and loves it. He's had carpel tunnel and needs the smallest amount of travel with the lightest actuation possible. Once Apple releases a standalone keyboard like they have on the new macbooks, that will be the goto for anyone with a 'light and low' requirement, although good luck finding that in a wired model for nrko.

Tesoro is supposed to have some new low profile keyboards out - chiclet style from what I've read. I've been using the Apple keyboards on my PC for years now and I can't stand the mile long key throw of mechanical. It's like going back to typing on a 1980's mainframe.

The throw is short on chiklet keys, but there's next to zero feedback until you bottom out, which is where a tactle mechanical will shine reducing the force being wasted on bottoming as well as fine tuning the typist for the actuation point of the switch.

The Tesoro optical switch seems like an interesting idea, but not really many technical details on it. I would imagine it would just be like a really smooth linear switch since there's no way to put any tactile feedback.

If you want the minimum throw, check out the new apple notebook/laptop keyboard that has like zero key travel. It's almost like typing on a touch screen, which my brother loves, but I find completely annoying. It's all about what your hands like.
