Looking for a good blue tooth earbud that you can use either left ear piece or right with a hook that can stay secure in your ear thru the day. I had the aminy Bluetooth from amazon https://www.amazon.com/bluetooth-he...spons&keywords=aminy+bluetooth+headsets&psc=1
but have two issues with it. First the fit is not good and the bud just sits on your ear instead of fitting inside your ear for better isolation and sound....even on 100%the sound is not loud enough bc the fit is not good. I need a head set that can last a minimum of 6 hrs and 2 so that I can use the left for 6 hrs then switch to the right one and last me thru the day. I only need to use one at a time and do not want any cords but totally wireless. Also want it to be water proof! Appreciate the help!

You have very specific requirements for a rager immature product category...

Having the ability to interchangeably use the left and right is as far as I know not possible with current products. Usually one has the Bluetooth radio and the other connects to that one for any if the products I have researched. With the bragi products, you could use the right bud in it's own but bit the left only.

Based on your requirement of being waterproof as well as the other requirements, you described the bragi dash pro.
https://www.bragi.com/thedashpro

I personally bought the bragi the headphone. It is similar but more basic. Concessions compared to the dash pro include no battery built into the charging case, less waterproof (you can't swim with them but they are still seat resistant), physical buttons instead of touch sensitive or motion sensitive controls, fitness related sensors, voice promos etc. Basically they are just no nonsense Bluetooth earbuds.

Don't expect ear piercing volume but I was able to get a good fit with the included comply foam ear tips and it is adequate.

One feature I really love is audio transparency. Basically you press and hold the volune up button and they send audio from the built in microphones through with whatever audio you are listening to. This is great for office use where you want to still hear if someone is trying to talk to you, phone ringing, etc. Not great for having long conversations but for example, I was at the grocery store, turned audio transparency on in the checkout line. I was able to hear the cashier ask if I wanted bags and how I would like to pay, without taking the headphones out if my ears. It is nice to be able to turn this on and off depending on the situation you find yourself in. There are 2-3 other products with a similar feature I believe.

Well I didn't mean water proof as in going under water with them. I really just meant sweat and rain proof. I plan to use mine at work and I work outdoors. If you go to the link of the ones I had you could use only the right one if you wanted and just use the left ones battery pack after the right one goes out. The battery pack would go over your ear to hold the ear bud in place and it was rated to last 8 hrs off one battery pack. It came with 2 battery packs so you could use one pack then use the second all on the right ear bud effectively having more than a days worth of play time. This was the perfect ear bud for me but unfortunately the fitment was not good at all and even at fully loud the music was somewhat faint bc the bud didn't really go into your ear but sat on the outside. If the company I bought ear buds from made the type of bud I'm looking for in sure there are several other companies out there. I don't see how there isn't a huge market for totally wireless ear buds..I have 1 ear bud called go Novate g8 that works great for gym workouts and I could never go back to using wired buds but they are only rated for 4 hrs.
The biggest problem I see with the bragi is it is not secured in any way to your ear. Normally these wireless ear buds do wiggle out of your ear if your using them during any activity...
Came across these :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073GZT5SS/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3IATAINZR8KT1
A single one seems to be able to work in mono mode and each one can last 6 hrs

I'm a Kickstarter backer of the Bragi Dash, and my biggest problem with it is the Bluetooth connectivity. If you have your phone in your trouser pockets and you're in an open space (without anything to bounce that BT signal off from), it will lose signal. So wearing that walking around on the streets of NY is spotty at best. You basically have to wear your phone on an arm band. If you have a huge phone like I do, it's not very convenient. I also tried hanging it in a pouch on my neck, it didn't work well either. So I'm holding the phone in hand with it in front of me, looking stupid.

The problem should be "fixed" with the latest version of Bluetooth, BT 5. Right now the Bragis are BT 4. But antenna placement on the Bragi might also be at fault. I dunno if the new Dash Pro or the Dash Headphone has better antenna placements.

On the bright side about the Dash, it stays in my ears. I have never lost it while biking, running, or playing basketball - which I only tried once, with transparency on of course, because I wanted to see if it'll fall out of my ears.

I recently backed Zolo Liberty+ by Anker, our favorite third party battery and charging cable company. It's cheaper than Bragi. It has graphene drivers, so it'll probably sound very good for its size and likely better than Bragi. They put a huge emphasis on antenna placement and connectivity, and it'll also have the latest version of BT. So I would recommend the Zolo Liberty+ right now. You should check that out.

Anker is a great company. I bought a few of their batteries and a charger and they worked better than my stock battery. Did anyone look at the link of the ones I posted above? If you are having that many issues with the BT that is Def defective. I've had 3 blue tooth sets of ear buds and the BT was never an issue. One of them I could literally be 50 ft away and they still worked. I'm going to try to order the ones from amazon in hopes the fitment is good and watch these anker buds...unfortunately the anker buds have nothing to hold them onto your ear... a clip or something in case your doing something active so they don't come out of your ear

If there's a line of sight to my phone my Bragis work like 50 ft too. The problem is when it's in your pockets. And it's a common complaint about the Bragi Dash (Kickstarter or first edition) at least. And like I said, I tried very hard to lose the Dash from my ears, and they stayed in. Bragi also had a lot of athletes test it out. I recalled that other people, me included, were amazed that it stayed in our ears.

Chang I'm not sure if it has anything to do with your phone being in your pocket...I have a cheap ear bud called the go Novate g8. I traveled Europe this summer listening to music with my phone in my pocket and the BT never cut out for me. All things considered I just realized your buds are 200 dollars lol my gonovate buds were 17....I would be really pissed if the dam buds could not connect with the phone in my dam pocket at that price! Anyways I will steer away from that brand and might try out the nexgadget pair

It's a problem with the first generation of "discreet" BT earbuds (completely in ear), which is the reason why Apple Airpod has antennae sticking out as well as the Moto Hint, which has a body outside the ear. This is true for all discreet BT 4 earbuds, not just the Bragi. It's got to do with BT4's issues with passing through objects and fluids like your body, as well as the antenna placement of the discreet earbuds - it needs to be a bit more outside of your ears to maintain that BT4 connection. BT5 might not solve that problem completely, but I trust that with Anker Zolo making a huge emphasis on antenna placement, they might have the problem solved.

Pivo504, if you only want to use one ear at a time, you might be better off with a headset earpiece, as in a calling/talking headset. I have a Plantronics M55 in my desk drawer at work for if I want to bring some music with me. The volume is underwhelming though, and sometimes it can be hard to hear music if I'm on the production floor. I've been looking for a headset earpiece with an earplug style, but haven't found one yet.

Being capable of calling and talking doesn't mean you have to use it for calling and talking. Most headsets also work fine as media headphones.

Chang as far as the Zolo Liberty+ how does the playtime work? I notice it said only 3.5 hours which is not enough but then it says something about 48 hrs? How does the 48 hr thing work? I believe the dock has 48 hr change built into it but the problem is how long does it take to fully charge? I honestly need a bud that has a minimum 6 hr 3.5 is a bit low for a leading company like anker..

Right but that had set you linked doesn't seem very comfortable. I'd be wearing this thing for about 8 to 10 hrs straight at work so being able to use left and right ears would be nice to give each ear a break!

the charger is also a battery case. It takes 1.5 hr to charge the buds fullly and 3 hr to charge the battery pack fully. I have never in any instance had to use the buds to empty. 3.5 hours is a long time for anything to be stuck in my ears.

Nah I work offshore and have wired buds in my ear up to 8 hrs a day. I like two buds that can be used one at a time to give each ear a break and also double the life of battery to 7 hrs. Otherwise I'd be listening to machines and wind all day lol much rather music helps my productivity, mood and most imp sanity lol

Wow. For your use case, I would not recommend an ear bud, but an over the ear headset. I would highly recommend the Bose QuietComfort 35 or the Sony MDR 1000X. They're both much more comfortable with a 20 hr battery life. Sony pretty much has Bose beat in everything (Active Noice Cancelling, sound, and features) except the build quality. (They both have similar comfort.) I would pick the Bose because the company stands behind their products, where as Sony blamed the fragile plastic on the customers.

I'm going to stick with ear buds. I need something water proof and that goes into my ear instead of sitting on my ears all day that gets annoying. I wish the anker liberty had at least 5 hr of playtime bc they sound promising but then again it could all be marketing and hype. 3.5 hrs for an ear bud is a bit on the low side considering I own a $17 dollar ear bud that lasts around 4hrs but the fit is not snug enough for my line of work.... Is there any idea when the anker liberty will hit amazon? I'll keep looking on amazon
