Played the hell out of 1404. Mildly enjoyed 2070. Didn't buy 2205.

Hope this is more like 1404.

And winter 2018.... Ugh... Need to wait a long time.

Gonna be a long wait. I'm really excited for this game. If it's basically like 1404 but with the new setting that's all it needs to be good.

Both 2070 and 2205 were fairly lackluster and removing multiplayer from 2205 was an idiotic decision. Lots of sales lost there (Including myself).

I feel like I played 2070 for a week or two. It was an interesting take on city building.

I can't remember the game that well, but it was like something was just off. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be a rts or a city builder. I could be wrong, I don't really remember.

I've played them all in the series. Looking forward to this one when it's released

same played and loved 1404 but 2070 i got bored with insanely fast and didn't even bother looking at 2205.. going back to 1800 i'm a lot more interested again.

This would be awesome if it is 1404 updated. However I still will not buy it if it needs that ubisoft launcher and always on drm crap.

I found 2070 first, the polish and more casual style made me like it more than the previous Anno, 1404.

And why the hate on 2205? (Yes - I'm serious.)
2205 has been the best Anno to date (especially graphically speaking) - if anything, upgrading to a GTX 1050Ti drives that point home with a jackhammer.
I bought 2205 on the Ubi Store for price reasons - period. If Steam had a better price, I would have purchased it there. (Whose fault is that - Ubi or Valve?) The Season Pass was on sale for a year - even IT was cheaper in the Ubi Store compared to Steam ($5USD less on the Ubi Store compared to $14.95USD on Steam - $9.95USD); basically, how DARE a lot of folks choose to save money! Also, DRM is DRM - it's not any harder to deal with when it's Uplay as opposed to Steam. While Uplay supports 2FA, do you have to use it? (No - and that is still true today - in fact, I DON'T use 2FA.)
I "discovered" Anno with 2070 - graphically, it bites - and especially compared to 2205.

Well that's a shame because 1404 is objectively superior in nearly every way.

Oh, dont worry, I was disappointed I didn't enjoy Anno 1404 as much as 2070. Might be because of the era i think. 1404 is meh to say the least for me, but 1800 sounds pretty cool.

Graphics was fine, the content was shit. Combat was basically was the same map, different crap. DLCs for two extra zones. Long ass switching between different zones, etc. Pretty much zero replayability.

Notice: Sales of Anno 1800 will be discontinued on Steam after April 16th due to a publisher decision to make the game exclusive to another PC store.

The publisher has assured us that all prior sales of the game on Steam will be fulfilled on Steam, and Steam owners will be able to access the game and any future updates or DLC through Steam.

We apologize to Steam customers that were expecting it to be available for sale after the April 16th release date.

Huh?

It runs through Steam like normal, you just can't buy it on Steam anymore.

It's on Epic which has a Open Beta going on April 12-14th
It might be on UBI launcher as well.

This crap is getting old and is going to set PC gaming back 10 years with how fragmented everything will become. Just how on the TV side we had Netflix now we have too many to count same thing is going to happen in PC gaming.

Sadly I was looking forward to this one and now it is on my do not buy list.

I pre ordered it on Steam yesterday. For me its not all these different launchers that bother me. Yet. For me its the quality of them. Do they work correctly? If there is a problem can I get support? That's a big 'no' for me when it comes to Epic. Crap is what Epic is. I'm all for competition but if its not good quality then forget it.

You will always be able to buy it on UPlay, and it launches on UPlay regardless.

For other games it might be an issue, but here if you buy it on anything but UPlay you are literally just using a launcher to launch a game from a launcher.

I pre-ordered it when I heard they were yanking it from Steam. I have grown tired of all the stores. I now am only using Steam, Windows, and Origin, (GOG too since they are DRM free). This could possibly be my last Anno game if they don't release any more on Steam.

Uh, why? I bought it on Steam because I had a coupon for it, but I wish I would have just bought it straight from UPlay.

It sucks using the game on Steam because even once the game is attached to your UPlay account, it still launches Steam first, then launches the game through UPlay. Just because it's on your Steam library doesn't change the fact that it's still just launching from UPlay.

It's just idiotic. If it's an Ubisoft game there is less overhead just buying it straight from UPlay.

I've never played an Anno game but I'd like to give this one a shot. Does uplay allow for returns?

i'd recommend picking up one of the older versions for dirt cheap and try it out.. play style doesn't really change a whole lot between each version.

i liked anno 1404 but ubisoft is charging 15 dollars for a 9 year old game when you can get the base anno 2070 for 5 dollars or the complete edition for 8 dollars on GMG and anno 2205 which was the one before anno 1800 is 15 on GMG for the ultimate edition.

1404 is better than 2070/2200.

2070/2200 had some serious issues and was a downgrade for the series. 1800 fixes that while also expanding the scope. Plus, the game works better in that age of sail / Industrial Age setting.

Am I the only one playing this?

The DLC’s have added some great content. I’m sitting at like 500 hours with this game.

I think I picked it up for $10 on uplay. Definitely got a lot of play time out of it before I got sick of it. Good game overall.
