Connecting keyboards of 2 laptops to 1 laptop through Ethernet cable

Hi.

I'd like to ask how I can make it so that if 2 laptops are connected by ethernet cable, pressing a key on one will allow the other to receive the same input? For example, if laptop 1 and 2 are connected by a Cat5e cable, I want to be able to press the 'A' Key on laptop 2 and have the display of laptop 1 show the 'A' key being pressed or vice versa (on a document for instance).

Is this possible? If so, what application would I need to use? Also, please note that the keyboards are firmly connected to each laptop (i.e. not detachable), so they cannot be connected via a USB cable, and I'd prefer not to buy any new hardware such as a USB keyboard or an external controller.

Thanks for any help!

Not possible.

You could use screen sharing/remote desktop software if you are trying to show someone how to do something, example.

Synergy used to be free once upon a time, it may be possible to find that, it can do pretty much what you are asking for. There used to be something like " g input" that was a google project if I recall right that was decent as well. Im sure there are other free "KVM" type software out there.

Are you just looking to mirror the displays, or actually input on both computers? There are multiple solutions for A, I'm not sure B is possible.

If you can give broader context into what you are trying to do, there might be other options.
