What's your fallback card?

Visiontek HD5450 iSilence AKA the Fanless Wonder is my backup today (and preceded my GTX550Ti as the main). When I can finally pull the trigger on a GTX 1050Ti without suffering from wallet-rape, the GTX550Ti will become the backup, while the Fanless Wonder will wind up on a shelf waiting for a non-Windows 8-or-above PC with a PCI Express x16 slot. (While there are Windows 8 drivers for the HD54xx, it is still a better fit for Windows 7 and earlier - or "Hackintosh" use.)

As you can see, that is what happened last week.

Now - Radeon HD 7970, 290 and GTX 1070 - all in their respective boxes.

1060 6GB...pretty new but too lazy to sell.
Too much hassle to put it on ebay.

I tried that once with my 4770K. Even with 2133 RAM, the damned HD4600 could barely run Guild Wars 2 at 1920 x 1200
The recent ones are fine like the HD520 and 620. My main rig, right now, which is my ultrabook have only integrated graphics. I can't play demanding games but it's ok for Lovely planet. xD

If the 1080 has issues, I have a 1050ti. I used it as a stopgap before, it really struggles at 3440x1440.

Single 970 if one of my SLi pair dies. If I suffer catastrophic failure, I have a GTX 780, GTX 770 and a GTX 480 lying around that I believe still work.

If my 970 fails, then my fallback is onboard video! I've given away most of my old video cards to family or friends over the years when theirs fails or want to give them a little faster card than what they have. The last couple years, I've been playing less and less PC/video games. Most of it was playing MMOS and I have since stopped. I get overwhelmed with 'what do I want to play?' and I end up watching Netflix, TV, or other stuff except games. I have plenty of time to play shit, just don't feel the urge for whatever reason.

Good ol' GTX 680

I'm in the middle of RMA process so it's a good thing to have something to use, even though it sucks to have only 2 gigs of VRAM in 2017.
After reading about pretty much everybody getting their 980ti's replaced with 1070's or even 1080's for some lucky bastards i was looking forward to it, but somehow, somewhere, they had exact same model of my card in stock to send back... Fuck You whoever sent that card in... and Fuck You EVGA :p

i had rmaed to msi a 270x got a r9 390 recently sold it for 260. Got a 1070 r9 280x is now on standby

Geforce GT730 and it just got called out of the GPU reserves to serve duty in my Plex server

a GTX 570 i couldn't unload at the right time. i do have a 970 as well, but will be giving that away in an m-ITX build.

My fall back due to getting a GTX 1080ti and had to sell off my old card to keep a bank balance is now a Intel® HD Graphics 4000 o_O
Or else it woulda been a R9 390X

none, i keep sending my older ones to my brother, and this gigabyte 1080 is starting to make noises...

Fallback is a GTX 970. Fallback to the fallback is my laptop's GTX 970m, connected via HDMI to my screen.

If you go to the store and buy it. So archaic. I would have to order one and would need something in the meantime.
In all reality, I'd likely find other things to do for a week while I browsed the FS/FT forum here or at the very minimum waited for my 2-3 days it takes for Newegg or Amazon Prime to arrive.

You are a troubled person! :)

Hard not to play my Rift for even a day, much less a few!
