Leaked images purport to show a 60” Apple-branded OLED television unit: while the photos were shot with a potato, you can make out a narrow frame design and metal shell, which aligns with the fruit company’s design aesthetic. Assuming this is even real (and goes beyond the testing phase), I wonder how expensive it would be, considering how the Thunderbolt Display was priced.

It's virtually impossible to say anything definitive about the contents of the photos, and Apple is known to regularly test devices most of which never see the light of day as consumer products. As far as Apple-branded television rumors go, these had been circulating for years before a Wall Street Journal report two years ago essentially confirmed that Apple had shelved its TV set plans back in 2014. The company reportedly spent more than a decade researching the possibility of releasing an ultra high-definition television set before deciding to cancel the project because it couldn't find untapped features that would give it an edge in the television market.

Nice tabloid quality image and story you got there.

check national enquirer website they might have some news worth posting as well.

I miss [H]ardOCP :(

Dont worry it will only cost you your left nut. You can keep your right one...for now.

I doubt the authenticity. Apple dropped the Cinema display line. There is not a lot of margins in selling TV's. Apple likes stuff with nice margins.

if anything if it is real it will be a monitor prototype, , apple droped and apple tv after jobs diead . tbh would be suicidal for apple considering how tv industry is. samsung would seriously under cut it with an android based tv with out breaking a sweat

It is up Apple and will command high profit margins lol. I wouldn't be surprised if this uses LG OLED panel and cost 5k

Heh, given Apple it'll be three years obsolete & still cost ten grand when it comes out.

Unless Apple is fabbing their own OLED panels, it's just a rebrand.......that will cost $5000 because it will have Facetime built in.
