The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

Anyone have 125 student laptop code for best buy? Need to get my wife a work laptop!

I moved a while ago and (don't ask me how) I succeeded to loose the modular cables for my trusty Cooler Master Silent Pro M850. If anybody having laying around some spares (or even a ful set from a dead PSU) I will gladly appreciate here and also on PayPal :))

PS need SATA and PCIe cables, eventual molex ones (to be there)

Looking for a decent~ish 8" to 10" tablet, my mom is 79 and it would be nice to not have to go upstairs every time she looks something up.

Would only really be used for reading and/or web stuff, so 1GB to 2GB RAM would work, prefer Windows so she doesn't have to learn new OS

Appreciate you guys and thanks for any assistance you can give !!! <3 :-})

Update: when I showed Mom how Android tablets are similar to Dad's (.4yo lol.) smartphone,
she thought that with his help she could probably swing it, she mostly just surfs anyways...

So if someone on [H]ere has a Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 tablet in good shape and you upgraded and
you no longer use that one, please let us know <3 . . . :) think the model is called = VK810

Anybody have a 9400GT

I've got one, it's got a strange passive cooler on it, but it works.

Have:

Got this Gigabyte motherboard from another [H]ard Forum member as a back from RMA/Not tested as they bought another board.
I am also throwing in an E8400 (LGA 775 OEM Style cooler already attached) + 2 x 1GB of DDR2 800 ram with blue heatsinks.

I would prefer to give this away as a combo but if I get separate interests in all three items I will separate

Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G (NO IO Shield as I did not get it when I was given the board)

The board will need a new CMOS/BIOS battery (Battery will be removed for shipping)

The board works but will take a good 15-30 Seconds to actually display anything on the screen it Could be my monitor or a BIOS setting but that is why I am giving the combo away for the shipping cost.

Want:

I need 6 motherboard standoffs for my CoolerMaster HAF 912
The thread is Male 6/32 x female M3.

The length I am totally unsure of but they were the short style ones according to the CoolerMaster HAF 922 Accessory pack I need to mount a micro ATX board in the case and the ones I am using now are too long as the board does not line up properly with the IO Shield cutouts

I believe the HAF 922 uses the same standoffs so I found a picture of the HAF 922 Accessory pack that CoolerMaster sells

Edit:
I found a picture of the standoffs included with the HAF 912 plus also the short ones

I got a MATX ASUS Gryphon Z87 board with CD, manual, and IO shield to give away. I used it from Dec 2013 till Dec 2016. I OCed my 4670k for a good 2 years. It was working last time I checked, no promises since it has been sitting in the closet for the past few months.

Contact me if interested, I will take $13.60 for USPS priority mail medium box 2 with Paypal friends and family. If nobody wants it, it will go to Staples to be recycled next week.

I'll take it, pm sent

I am looking for worn out nikon batteries to convert into super packs. Dont remember all the models but ones that would fit at least d3100-d3300. A battery grip i can stuff full of 18650 cells would be a bonus.

GDI so close. i was looking for a 775 mobo to put in my file server but i need one with onboard graphics card ( or at least able to boot without a graphics card in it)
my ucrrent one only has the 16x pcie socket and as soon as i put in my 4x1gbit nic it does not post :(

Anyway I'm looking for a small Wifi router or access point. does not need to have extreme range or speed. but needs to be not higher than 1.5 inches, so turnable/internal/moveable antennes are a must
G would suffice N would be awesome

PM about the 1U PSU's (not all of them so if someone else needs a few)

Does anyone have a dead or working Netgear R6300v2 that they want to part with for the shipping costs?

My only requirement is it has to be the retail model (Yellow not blue stripe on the bottom) Not a Charter/Spectrum model.

The router does not have to work I only want the case as I like the way the Netgear logo glows on the retail version.

I bought one of these on eBay and it turned out to be a Charter version

Looking for:

- 1TB SATA hard drive (free or cheap)

- Flash drives of any size.

Have given a ton of hard drives away in the past, computer cases, + other stuff.

Might be a stretch, but does anyone have an extra mobile Sandy chip?
Nothing fancy, even an i3 2310M would be great. Trying to get an old laptop working again.

Have given away a bunch of stuff a few pages back (mobos, etc.)

UPDATE : Got an i3 2310M from a trashed laptop at work.

Would an i5 3230m work? I pulled it from a lenovo G580, was working then, has just been sitting on my desk for the past 6 months lol, can't promise it'll work but I could swing it for like $10 if you want it

Not sure, let me look into that. I'm trying to revive a Lenovo T420 with its CPU missing (but it's otherwise mint - WTF? ).

UPDATE : Managed to get an i3 2310M from a trashed laptop at work. Really appreciate the offer though!

Several months ago I made a large FS thread with some old hardware. Stuff was 5+ years old. The page was open for about 3 months and nothing sold. I just closed it two weeks ago and was about to trash everything but just now realized I have all the parts (except a mobo) to build a computer. Since I was going to trash it all, I'd rather build a computer and see if anyone in Houston needs it. Does anyone have a Socket AM2, AM2+ or AM3 mobo laying around? I could build two computers if I can come up with two mobos and one video card. Any contributors? These aren't going to be gaming rigs, just functional computers for someone who lost theirs in the flooding.

I have a few AM2 boards laying around. I need to double check thier functionality. Hit me back by sunday and Ill let you know sir.

An other really odd thing I am looking for, does anyone have a broken screen 4k tv they can donate the mainboard(s) from? Has to be new enough to support HDMI 2.0 (I have a very early display that only supports 1.4 which means 24p) the lcd panel is capable of a full screen refresh at 120hz so all i would really need is to hot wire in a board that supports hdmi 2+, :p

The (7) 300w 1U server PSUs, FSP300-601UI, I posted are not working properly and are no longer available. It turns out that the caps on the DC side are vented in every one of the PSUs, providing inconsistent dc output, especially on the 12v rail.

That's a common problem on FSP PSUs, they use garbage capacitors, usually "crapxon" CapXon brand. Antec used FSP as an OEM on some of their PSU models and have the same problem.

I've recapped a few of them and honestly it's not worth it. They usually use these weird pencil thin non-standard cap sizes which are impossible to find, as no reputable cap vendor makes those sizes. One example is a 2200uF 16v cap in a 8x25 size, when the standard size most manufacturers use is 10x20. Your only choice then is to figure a way to stick the cap elsewhere and route the leads or use a lower farad rated cap. I think the highest rated farad value with an 8mm diameter is like 1600uF.

Those PSU cases would make cool project boxes though, especially with the fans.

Anyone good at soldering? I have a Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H mobo that has bent and missing pins. Bought it on eBay a few months ago because I thought I read the item description stating just bent pins. But since I failed to read correctly, have a mobo that I don't have use for. I have already bought a working mobo, since I can't solder for shit.

Comes with the board, box, and even a SLI bridge. Just pay for shipping and it can become your little project. If no takers, I will be tossing it in the trash in a few weeks.
