The PC open beta for Destiny 2 begins August 29th, and here is a sneak peek at what you can expect (aesthetically, at least) from the online-only multiplayer FPS. The full game will not be released until October 24, but those who preorder can get early access to the beta on the 28th.

Experience Destiny 2 in 4K with uncapped frame rates in the PC Open Beta August 29-31. Pre-purchase Destiny 2 on PC Exclusively at Blizzard Battle.net and get 24 hour early beta access starting on August 28. Begin Destiny 2’s epic cinematic story campaign, fight below the surface of Nessus in the three-player cooperative Strike Inverted Spire, and enter the Crucible to put your competitive multiplayer skills to the test in two 4v4 modes.

Won't touch the game until it's out and I can read about it first. The first one, while looking good and good mechanics, failed in the story and gameplay for me. I got bored so fast. You can only run so many of the same instances.

No, this time I want the potential confirmed first. Not going to jump on the bandwagon this time.

I'd rather them go this route than to just spring it out and have millions of issues on day 1 of the real release. This offers end users a glimpse of how it will run and gives Blizzard some idea of what potential issues they might face. Seems win/win to me. The trick is that it sounds like this "open" beta requires you to pre-buy the game to play it?

"Uncapped" had better not mean 120 FPS max or I'll be extremely upset.

You need to pre-order if you want to try it out on the 28th, you can just ignore it and wait till the 29th to try it for free.

vagabond102 Why not pretend you're trying the game out for free? No one said anything about giving them any feedback?

Damn man, it's a good thing you couldn't just play a game you don't own for a short time for free and just enjoy it for that or anything. If you were any more pissed off butt hurt old man you'd be the guy dressed up as a ghost at the end of every Scooby Doo episode. Seriously have you never played a demo before? At a month before launch there's not really much left to fix right now, especially since the console one has already played out.

That's another topic...I'm also done testing games for companies for free.

"I got bored with the first game cause no content was available or it was poor quality. Liked the mechanics, though. Won't be burned on that again."

"Here, you can get your own preview of our content to determine if you, yourself, like it. We're still tweaking mechanics, but it's largely done at this point."

"No way. I won't take the chance to see if you addressed my single greatest complaint against your IP, free of charge, because you might make slight adjustments that will have no impact on what I was unhappy with in the first place."

???

I'm the same way. My buddy used to always wanna get games on Steam that were Early Access.

We'd end up playing an unpolished game for a bit before I lost interest and never went back even after it came out of Early Access.

I'd personally rather wait.
